this seems like the line that I am tracing, there may be some mistakes in
dates that I have not found yet. I would be very interested in and
imformation on any of the Clarke/Clark's of the branches of the family.
I am also fairly sure of the Lemuel Clarke having a son Solomon and that
it is my Solomon but I am really interested in finding out for sure and
need to know Lemuel Clarke's parents too.

I'm reposting, still seeking the missing spouse and children of Thomas A.

1885. Wife Mary S. ? probably remarried. She was born 1841 in AL and could
have returned there. Please check out the birthdates & initials of these
children & see if they match any Clarks who may have appeared out of nowhere:
William Clark b. 1859
H. Lee Clark b. 1865 (I have a Harry Lee Clark down another branch.)
J. H. Clark b. 1866
J. W. Clark b. 1868 (An uncle was James William)
L. B. Clark b. 1873
M. A. Clark b. 1876
According to an 1885 lawsuit, the siblings of Thomas A. Clark did not know
the whereabouts of Thomas' widow or children. ANY help on these people would
be very much appreciated.
I am looking for the parents of Elizabeth Clark born about 1773 in
Georgetown, Maine who married Arad Powers Mayhew 22 Dec., 1793 probably
Georgetown, Maine. Elizabeth had a brother Benjamin Clark who married
Mehitable Mayhew the sister to Arad Powers Mayhew. Benjamin was born about
1771 Georgetown, Maine. Elizabeth also went by the name of Betsey.

Does anyone know anything about the ancestry of Anderson CLARK, who appears
in the following censuses? 1830 Bledsoe Co., TN; 1840-50-60 McMinn Co., TN.
He was born in NC in 1801. He married Isabell JONES probably before 1825.
She was born in NC in 1800. I think she may have been from Stokes Co., NC.
They both died in McMinn Co. I have no idea which county in NC was his
home. Would love to hear from someone working on this line.

and married Lt. Seth PHELPS (c.1757 - c1817), whose family was settled in
Chester.

Seth PHELPS b1795

Had to let everyone know. Just found out that James Madison Clarke was the husband of Amanda Justus Clarke. I have a start!! To
my friends in Alabama, I will let you know if there is a connection with your families. However, it appears that Maine is where
the family originated. I was just told that there was a Clarke Family Bible in the possession of one of my distant cousins.
Everyone is excited that I have started this search as no one up to now has taken an interest. And to think it started with the
discovery of an old photo album. If anyone has come across the name James Madison Clarke please let me know. I will let everyone
know what this bible contains in case it will help you.

Although this doesn't help Louise, who wrote asking for westward migration
routes from VA to OH in the 1790 to 1820 period, I can say that a large
group of Bedford / Campbell Co. VA Quakers moved to OH -- sorry the county
escapes me as "my" line went to KY -- in this timeframe. They traveled
with MOORMAN / ANTHONY / JOHNSONs and had given names of Christopher,
Zachariah,
Andrew, perhaps Micajah, with a few Roberts, William and James throw in, but
very few. Look for surnames as given names with this bunch. Good luck
everyone ... the jump from one state to another can be difficult. Linda
