Re: [Clark-Clarke] Two Clarke families
by Kathy Clark-Williamson
I, too, am a masochist and I going crazy trying to get these “Clarke’s” straightened out. I do know that my grandfather was Esculapius Clark, son of William Henry Clarke of Monterey, Kentucky. He married Margarett Walker McAfee of Mercer County, Kentucky (The Life and Times of Robert McAfee), written by Jennie Tenlen.
It’s confusing because my gggrandfather went by the name Henry Clarke as did his father William Henry Clarke. My gggrandfather was born in 1818 and his father was born in the late 1700’s. I was contacted by a guy from my hometown (Frankfort) and was told that we were related through Gen. Clark Green Marston who lived in Owen County, Kentucky. Gen. Marston was related to GRC. I believe my ggggrandfather was Amos Dillon Clark who married Ann Nancy Duvall. Seems like they all came from AA, MD to Botetort, VA, to Owen and Mercer and Franklin County (Frankfort), Kentucky
