Message Board Post:
Hello,
Is anyone researching Benjamin Clark(e) who was in the 1810 census in Stonington, New London County, CT (p. 139)and the 1820 census in Stonington (p. 572)? In each census, he had eleven people in his family.
Might one of his daughters been Thankful Clark(e) who was born 11 April 1800? Thankful married Raymond Green, son of Isaiah, in Stonington in 1820; they were married by Coddington Billings. Thankful Clark(e) Green died in Granville, Mass. 20 April 1884.
Who was the wife of Benjamin Clarke(e)? Thankful's death certificate lists her parents as Benjamin and Frances Clarke.
Did Benjamin Clark(e) move away from Stonington after the 1820 census?
Any information would be appreciated. I know nothing about Thankful's mother or her maternal and paternal grandparents.
Thanks!
Judi

Seeking information on my 3rd great grandmother, Esther Ann Clark(e) Rockefeller, born 1827/died February 4, 1877 and buried in Vale Cemetary, Schenectady, NY. Esther married Jonas H. Rockefeller at Nassau Reformed Church, Nassau Rennsselaer, New York on November 26, 1847. They had the following children: Spencer (1849), Ardella (1851), Herbert (1854) and Charles Emerson (1858). I have her census records already, but I have been trying to see if there are any articles about her. I've searched Fulton History, but to no avail. I believe that her parents were Ralph Clark and Catherine Hare Clark. This information is based on a death cert of Tharina Clark Atwell, who (according to an obit) would have been Esther's sister. Tharina's obit mentions Ardella and Spencer's children and says that she was their aunt.
If you have any suggestions, please let me know. Esther has always been my brick wall. Thanks!

Am looking for information on the Clark family of Macon County, Georgia. My great grandfather was John Belton Clark. I am the granddaughter of his son, John Jackson Clark. I know little or nothing about the family. There was a Katherine Clark who was in the Miss America contest and we are supposedly descendants of a Native American tribe. I am also looking to connect with family members.

I have been researching the Lewis and Clark families who were boat builders in Pittsburgh at the time of Lewis and Clark Expedition out of Pittsburgh in 1803. Crawford is one of the names connected to this Pittsburgh family. I believe it goes back to Col William H Crawford.
In any event, it's well recorded that William Clark's son CSA Col Meriwether Lewis Clark was CSA General Robert E Lee's aide in Richmond VA during the Civil War.
One of the first stops after Meriwether Lewis picked up his boat at Fort Fayette in Pittsburgh was to visit Dr Felix Brunot of Brunot Island near Mckees Rocks in Pittsburgh.
Dr Brunot was an Indian Agent. He also was the foster brother of General Lafayette by some very impressive records. Dr Brunot is buried at Allegheney Cemetery in Pittsburgh.
There seems to be a unrelated Lewis and Clark family in Pittsburgh who own the patent on the Lewis and Clark boat. It as given to them by Thomas Jefferson in 1789. This is the family connected to Col William H Crawford of Pittsburgh and to General Andrew Lewis of Point Pleasant. Many of these families were connected to the Dunmore War that was run out of Ft Dunmore which is now Ft Pitt in Pittsburgh.

Seeking information on Henry E. Clark who is listed in the 1860 census in New Madrid County, Missouri. He is 36 years old and was born in Ohio. His wife is Martha A. Clark (age 35, born in Ohio). The children include: Albert and Edward. Henry E. Clark was a road contractor and also was a Colonel for the Rebel forces in the Civil War. It appears he left the area for Texas about 1870. He may have had a son or other relative named Frank or Franklin Clark that was executed for murder in 1870 in southeast Missouri.

Hi, Don! Actually, I have not found anything conclusive about the connection to Benjamin and Barbara. I am a descendant of the Abraham you mentioned, but can not prove the connection to Benjamin. The documents I have are more in support of some of the siblings of Abraham, not about who their parents are. I am happy to share if you would like anything more.
