Another Clark researcher and I have a bit of a mystery.
He has among his family photos, a photo of a boy taken by J. Pollard on Broadway in Tillsonburg.
On the back is written "William Clark, Uncle John's son"
I have posted the photo on my web site at:
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~marcelo/Clarks/WmClark.htm
If you recognize the boy in the photo, we'd love to hear from you!

Father and son
The funeral of Charles L. Clark and son Alva, who died of typhoid fever at Gerphart Station will be held at 10 o'clock Sunday morning with burial in Tick Ridge Cemetery. Short services will be held at the grave on account of the illness of the other three children.
The Valley Sentinel, Portsmouth, Ohio, Wednesday, January 20, 1915
FATHER AND SON ARE CLAIMED WITHIN A FEW HOURS BY GRIM REAPER
Death within a few hours twice entered the home of Charles Clark, well known residence, of Gephart's Station. The death of the head of the family, Mr. Clark, was followed a few hours later by that of his son Alva Clark, aged 24. Mr. Clark succumbed to typhoid fever at 3:45 o'clock Friday afternoon and his son Alva joined him in the Great Beyond at 7:20 Saturday morning, dying from the same disease. It is one of the saddest cases ever recorded in the community, as three other children in the stricken household are ill with the same disease, Cecil, aged 17, Virgie, aged 12 and Alma, aged 10. Mrs. Clark so far has escaped the disease. Neighbors are rendering all the assistance possible to the doubly bereaved family as the three victims are quite seriously ill. They came from all sections in vicinity of Gephart Station Friday night and Saturday morning to assist the family. Mr. Clark was taken ill ten days ago and his condition become serious from the start. His son Alv!
a, who died this morning, had been ill five weeks. Charles Clark, who was born and reared in the vicinity of Gephart Station, was well known in Scioto County. He was born at Harrison Mills and was a son of Mr. and Mrs. William H. Clark, who survive him. The deceased was 45 years of age. He was a splendid citizen, a good husband, and loving father, he was only 21 years old when he was united in marriage to Miss Ella Humphrey at Gephart Station. Mr. Clark for a great number of years worked as a, clay miner in and near Gephart Station. Besides his parents and bereaved wife he leaves five children, Charles, Cecil, Vergie, Alma and Annabelle; four brothers, Sam and Levi of New Boston, James of Sciotoville and Ora of East Portsmouth, and three sisters, Mrs. Anna Lane of Lawrence Furnace, Mrs. J. Colegrave of Gephart Station, and Belle Yelley of Lilly, Ohio, are also left to mourn his death. Ora Clark is on the city police force. Alva Clark was born at Gephart Station and !
was one of the best liked young men of that vicinity. A double funera
l will he held Sunday afternoon at the home with burial in the Tick Ridge Cemetery. Mr. and Mrs. Clark of East Portsmouth were called to Gephart Station, Friday evening. The sympathy of the community goes out to the bereaved family and all that loving hands can do to assist the afflicted members of the family is being done.
