Joseph Clark moved to Tippah with his brother James M. I believe they had a younger brother named Samuel. All were farmers with significant holdings until the Civil War. I suspect that their father was Joseph Clark, born about 1786 in SC, who also moved to Tippah Co. All are buried at Jacob's Chapel cemetary in Ripley, MS. I'd love to see any information you may have. Cheers!

My father grew up in Indianapolis and Evansville. His birth certificate shows his mother as Goldie Geston Clark, born approx. 1898. This conflicts with the 1920 census which shows her as being 32 that year, making her DOB approx. 1888. The census shows her name as Goldie Gretchen Stone, rather than Gaston. She was born in Illinois and married Charles Conway Stone in Vigo County, Indiana on 08/26/1915. They had four children, then she left some time between 1921 when the fourth child was born and about 1923. I have not found any divorce record but Charles remarried later, so I assume there was a divorce.
I have never been able to find any trace of what became of Goldie. If anyone has any information on her, I would appreciate your help. Thanks.

Hello, I am sure I recognise your username so we may have communicated before, but nevertheless, I note you are connected to Clarks from Stratton/South Petherton, from whence I also descend. One branch of my family did move from SP to Stratton - John Clark b 1819 at SP. Is this your line? If so I would be interested to learn more of this line if you can oblige. Again, sorry if we have already communicated along these lines but whilst I recognise your name I can find no records in my dissorganised filing system.

Hello Betty,
Welcome to Ancestry. I am very glad to hear from you. I knew someone from your branch of the family would eventually find my messages.
I am one of your mother`s younger cousins. Your grandmother, Lillian was my father`s sister. They were close and we often visited her on Bordeaux street here in Montreal. I always had fun playing with her dog, a boxer named Candy.
Genealogy has been a hobby of mine for several years and I have Seebold information and photos going back to 1818 which I would be glad to share. You have second cousins right across Canada and your mother`s eldest Seebold cousin is still alive in Florida.
Please contact me directly via the member link. We will exchange e-mail addresses.
Best wishes, Duncan

Hi, I am looking for information on Francis (Frank) Hatfield that married Elizabeth Clarke. I believe I found his death certificate and it states that he died 26 Dec 1928. Also, according to the death certificate, he lived at Indian Road and his parents were John and Mary Hatfield. Does anyone know who these individuals are? The really confusing part I have, is that I found a marriage record for Elizabeth Clarke to a Francis White (parents Peter and Emmeline White) in 1877. Francis and Elizabeth White can be found in the 1881 Canadian Census for Shubenacadie, Hants, Nova Scotia. Francis White and Elizabeth had a son Creighton born about 1878 according to the 1881 Canadian Census. In the 1891 Census Elizabeth's husband's name is Frank Hatfield and Creighton's last name is now Hatfield. I also found a birth record for a Creighton Hatfield for 26 Jun 1878 in Shubenacadie with parents Frank Hatfield and Elizabeth Clark. Even though there are different parents listed, I am beginn!
ing to wonder if Francis White and Frank Hatfield might be the same person since I haven't found a death record for Francis White or a marriage record for Frank Hatfield. Does anyone have any information or ideas on this? I will be cross posting this to the White and Hatfield message boards. Lennie
