I have no connection to this family. I just found this and thought someone on here might find it of interest.
>From History of Camden and Rockport by Reuel Robinson, p. 415:
"James Clark was born in Waldoboro, Maine, Sept. 28, 1799, whence he moved to Camden about the year 1822. During his early life he followed the sea for sometime, and then opened a store and went into trade which he continued until failing health compelled him to give up business. He afterwards bought and opened to the public, the 'Megunticook House,' otherwise known as 'Clark's Hotel' (now the Bay View House) of which he was landlord for a long period. He was prominent in town affairs and was for several years Selectman and also served for a number of years as Treasurer. When Camden was made a Port of Entry in 1849, Mr. Clark was appointed Deputy Collector of Customers. Mr. Clark was greatly interested in Masonic affairs and was Master of Amity Lodge in 1835 and 1856. He was one of the 'Immortal Nine.' Mr. Clark married Emmerline Ewell of Waldoboro, Maine, and the children born to them were: Julia (who married Joseph Perry), James W., Fannie (who married first Thomas!
Rogers, and second Charles Gilman), Andrew E., Charles and Emma (who married Johnson Knight). He died Sept. 12, 1873, at the age of nearly 74 years."

Date of loss;12 July 1950, POW
Soldier: KIETH KENNEDY CLARK
Home of record: Vernon Parish, LA

Date of loss: 7 Jan 1951, POW
Soldier: MEACHEM WAYNE CLARK

Born: 24 July 1926
Date of loss: 20 July 1950, MIA
When the Korean War ended the enemy never returned or accounted for over 8,000 of our servicemen. They died in their hands. That was over 50 years ago. Since that time DNA has been perfected and also they are recovering remains in North Korea. Our government is obligated to return those remains to the proper family. DNA samples have been obtained from most of the families of these missing soldiers. For various reasons some families have not been located. .
When the remains are recovered and identified they will be returned to the family for proper burial. I am just an old (76 years) Combat Veteran out of the Korean War and thankful that I did return. I consider this a very noble cause and I hope that you can help in some way to find these families. For more information on the project you may go to http://www.jpac.pacom.mil/. My part in the program is to match up the lost families with the proper agency.
I will be grateful for any assistance in locating these families.

I am interested in the one in North Carolina. My line is Luranah "Raney" Clark who married Matthias Madren.

Hi all,
GenealogyBuff.com has just added two obituary collections from
northern Illinois. These collections contain many CLARK cousins.
The first one is the Northeastern Illinois Obituary Collection at
http://www.genealogybuff.com/il/northeast/webbbs_config.pl
This collection has hundreds of obituaries from the Chicago and
surrounding suburbia.
The other is the Northwestern Illinois Obituary Collection at
http://www.genealogybuff.com/il/northwest/webbbs_config.pl
This collection has hundreds of obituaries from Carroll, Whiteside, Jo
Daviess, and other area counties.
Each collection will grow as the rest of the obits are scanned and processed.
Hope this helps.
Bill

I have a Josiah Clark that lived in Carter Co Tn in the early 1800,s
He had several sons including a Josiah but he moved to Missouri.
However it may be possible that one of the other sons moved and named his
son
after his grandfather. Josiah came to Carter Co in 1790,he had a black
powder mill To the best of my knowledge he died in the early 1800's ( maybe
blew himself
up with his wares) I doubt if there is any connection but saw your query
and
thought I would give you my information.

I am trying to find where Mark M. Clark is buried. He was born 1848 in either Ny or PA, census say both. He was married to Melissa Herritt who is buried in Germania,Potter Co, PA with one of her daughters Evalena Clark (Martin) but he is not there. The last place I know he was: Itasca county, Township 158 (Watrous). by a Minnesota census from 26 June,1905 His children in Minn with him were Issac B. Clark, and Elsie Clark who married John Shobe. I think he must have died in that area and is buried there. I can't find any of the cemetery online to search. Does anyone happen to know if he is in Minn., where he is buried and the date of his death? Or have any links to where I Can search the cemeteries or obituaries there?

Hi
My name is Joyce.
I think that your dad and I were friends in the early 1960's.
Was he employed with the Butler Bros. Corp.? The person I knew was in retail and sold shoes. His birthday was April 22, 1940 and was born in Long Beach.
I hope that this is the same Jim Clark that I knew way back
when, because I have often wondered about him.
His mom was Alice and his dad lived in Ky.
Please respond one way or the other.
Thank you
Joyce Lietz Reeves

Sorry, neither the children nor the grandchildren of Daniel/Nancy fit your Clark.
You can try looking at pilot.familysearch.org and restrict your search to the time period and phila. I see there are several Herbert Clarks around the birth time you speak of.
