Thanks for your reply!
I am actually Alice Derry's granddaughter, daughter of Jayne. When I posted this information in 2000 I was actually looking for information on Alice's husband, my grandfather Robert Derry. It's taken some digging, but I did find quite a bit of information on him. Here is just a little...Robert was the only surviving son out of 12 children. His mother and father are buried in Augusta, WI only about 45 minutes from me, so that was very rewarding to find out in my search. I also found his grandparents on his mother's side of the family buried there as well. His mother's family came from New York and his father's family came from Nottingham and Lincolnshire, England. Robert's father was Herbert James Derry, he was the eldest son and the only one in the family that married. So there aren't very many Derry's floating around that we are related to.
Again, Thanks for your response.

Mike,
I'm not sure. I don't know much about Ambrose Clark. I have him listed in the 1860 census in NE, but have not found him after that. I think he and his wife may have died, since their daughter is being raised by another family in 1870.
I think Ambrose might be the son of Fielding Clark of MO., but have nothing to prove or dispove this yet.
Sorry I couldn't be of more help
Sheila

Lisa,
I am researching the same line, and do not know if you have gotten anywhere with Anderson Clark in the last few years. He would be my gg grandfather (vesta v, the youngest on the cencus is not correct. It is Vester V (my g grandfather) and the 2nd youngest really is named Toy (not Foy or Troy).
Anderson is buried at Hillcrest Cemetery in Bell Co, Texas & he was a reverend @ 1st Baptist Church in Temple and married to a Sarah. If you have discovered any additional info, please share with me.

Marilyn,
It's very likely that our Clark's are related. Benjamin Clark, my ggg grandfather was born in 1784, married in the early 1800's and moved to Spencer Co. Indiana with his wife and family. I would be interested in comparing notes with you to look for some common threads. Thanks for the response.
Roger Clark

Hi: I am also researching Clarks from Nelson CO. Ky. My ancestor was JOHN CLARKE who married ANNE JEWELL in Nelson Co 1813...They had a child BENJAMIN F. CLARK born 1815. JOHN died shortly before or after birth and ANNE remarried to ELIJAH SKINNER and they moved to Greene Co Indiana where BENJAMIN used the name SKINNER. I am from the line of BENJAMIN and the family has since used the name of SKINNER only to find out recently that we are really CLARKES. Do you think there is any possibility that the BENJAMIN you are looking for could be related to my Benjamin? What more info could I provide to you.
Thanks, M. Gentry
