Happy New Year, I am interested in any information on the
Clark families of Orange and Chatham counties in North
Carolina. I descend from both the Petty and Clark families
and my great great great grandparents were John and Delilah
Clark Petty who were married on June 13, 1834 in Chatham co.
NC.They both died in Maine Prairie Township, Stearns co. Mn.
John Petty in December 1877 and Delilah Clark Petty on
January 12, 1912. They are both buried in the Maine Prairie
Cemetery. Anyone who has information or is interested in
this couple or in the Clark families of Orange and Chatham
co. NC. I would be happy to hear from. Duane McKenzie.

My mistake on the death location...in checking my records, I have no location listed. I show them having eight children, George, Abbie, James, Dollie, David, Elmer (my great-grandfather), Walter & Vesta. Does this sound right?
Rose Hills would make sense and the death dates are correct. Elmer is at Rose Hills. How are you related to this family? Most of this is from the "Conant" bible belonging to Edward and Mary Ann, that was handed down to Elmer.

This is interesting. I am a great grand daughter of Edward Conant and Mary Ann Clark Conant. Everything on here I have seen before, but I have her listed as being in California at the time of her death, and that date is 07-02-1927. Burial is in Rose Hills Memorial Garden, next to her husband, Edward T. Conant, who died 12-21-1930. This is the same cemetery where my father and my grandmother, the daugher of Edward and Mary Ann is buried. The Conants did live in Madison, Indiana, before moving to Louisville, Kentucky, then to Smithland, Kentucky.
I am sure we are talking about the same people, but I do not understand this major discrepency.

My name is David Arms and I am looking for any information I can find on a Fate Clark that would have had Arthur, John Noah, and Alvin Leon as his children. My Grandfather is Alvin and Fate's name is about all I know. My dad told me that Alvin and Fate didn't really get along. I think that his wife died in 1957 in Detroit because my dad says he remembers riding back on a passenger train from there to Clarksville, TN. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello, I have been told that my grandmother was full cherokee and she was a Clark. Also my grandmother's parents were James Clark and Mary Ann Standoff but I cannot find out enough info to form any conclusions. My grandfather Charles Hartless's father James Levi Hartless married Mary R Hicks and there are alot of Hicks on the Monocan roll. My father goes back to his great grandfather marrying an Indian. I have the marriage license with William Clark son of Robert Clark and Mary/Polly Ford daughter of William Ford with James Clark as a witness. The marriage license states of intermarry and a sum of $150.00. Any suggestions as what to do with this information or where to go from here. Thanks Estelle
