Hi,
my gggrandmother was Matilda Clark b. Nov. 15, 1859 in MO.
She married Francis Hester Kenyon b. June 14, 1850. They lived in Round Mountain, Shasta County, California. I heard a story a few years ago about some tragedies on the trail when they Migrated west. Also they spent sometime in Nevada since one of Francis's brothers was born there. Both families came west togather.
You can contact me by email at footballnut98375(a)yahoo.com

I've "rescued" two old photographs which I believe both belong to the MCMYNN
Family of Racine, Wisconsin. The first is a photograph identified as that
of Louise MCMYNN which was taken at the Thomas Studio in Racine. The
photograph appears to have been taken in the 1880's with Louise likely in
her 20's at the time it was taken. The second photograph was taken at the
same studio but is not identified. It is of a young woman, also likely in
her 20's at the time the photograph was taken.
Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information
regarding the family:
Louise Marion MCMYNN b. 27 Oct 1866 in Racine, WI, she was the daughter of
John Gibson MCMYNN and Marion Frances or Francis CLARK. Louise married
Howard GREENE (b. 1863) on 27 Oct 1890 in Racine Co. WI and together they
had 4 children including, Howard Thomas; Charles; John McMynn; and Elizabeth
McMynn GREENE, all born between 1893 and 1906. Louise died 27 Feb 1932 and
Howard remarried and had two additional children.
Census records provide the following:
1870 census of Racine, WI:
John MCMYNN, age 45, a Bookkeeper, born NY
Marion MCMYNN, age 31, born WI
Frances MCMYNN, age 3, born WI
John C. MCMYNN, age 1, born WI
Norman CLARK, age 65, Asst US Assessor, born VT
Barbara OLEY, age 19, Domestic Servant, born WI
1880 census of Racine, WI:
John G. MCMYNN, age 55, Prin. Of Academy, born Scotland, parents born
Scotland or NY/Canada
Marion MCMYNN, wife, age 41, Keeping House, born WI, parents born VT
Louise MCMYNN, dau, age 13, At School, born WI
John C. MCMYNN, son, age 11, at School, born WI
Robert N. MCMYNN, son, age 9, at School, born WI
Helen MCMYNN, dau, age 6, born WI
Norman CLARKE, father-in-law, age 74, born VT, parents born VT
+ 1 servant
I am hoping to locate someone from this MCMYNN Family so that these
wonderful old photographs can be returned to their care. If you are a
member of this family or you know someone who might be, please contact me.
Thanks,
Shelley

Message Board Post:
Audrey,
Bob King here. I have been researching my family tree for over 40 years. All of my line stretch way back except one. And I believe that we have that one line in common.
Hannah Clark is my mother's, mother's, mother's, mother. Her name appears on my great grandmother's death certificate, but in all these years of research I have only been able to find her one time. That was in the 1860 Marion Township, Noble County, Ohio census. She is 17 years old, born in Ohio, working as a live-in domestic for a Blacksmith and she attended school that year.
Other than that, I was stumped. So many Clarks in that area and county lines and townships changing, really made it difficult to sift through. Then I got on ancestory.com at a LDS center and found the whole family in the 1950 census from Guernsey County.
I see from your querie that you have seen that one. Have you had any luck beyond that? Any luck with wills or land records?
I did find a John Clark born in 1816 in Ohio in the 1880 Center township, Noble County census. He says both of his parents were born in Virginia. Just like Isaac Clark and Elias Clark's families.
Here is a possible clue: Hannah is working in the house of Samuel and Permelia Johns. Permelia is Hannah's sister's name and I assume not very common. This Permelia is 67 in 1850, born in Virginia in1783. Could this be maternal grandparents or just a coincidence?
Anyway, hopefully you have all this worked out by now.
Looking foreword to hearing from you,
Bob
