I am looking for information on my ancestor Delilah Clark
born in Orange or Chatham co. NC. on January 15, 1819 and
died on January 13, 1912 in Maine Prairie, Stearns co. Mn.
Delilah Clark married on June 13, 1834 to John Petty in
Chatham co.NC. They left Chatham county around 1840 and
settled in Noble Township in Shelby co. Ind. before they
went to Maine Prairie in Stearns co. Mn. in 1865-66. Any
information on this family would be appreciated. Thank you

There is an Alston Clark listed in the Social Security Death Index that could be the Alston Clark that you are referring to. It says that his last know residence was Berry, Alabama in Fayette County. He was born July 25, 1905 and died Dec. 15, 1966.

According to the 1920 Census, there was a Lizzie Badgett living in Cox in Etowah Co., Alabama. She was 35 yrs. old and born abt. 1885. She rented her home and was listed as being the head of household, single, and a farmer. In her household was a son, Alston Clark age 16 who was born in Alabama abt. 1904 and worked as a farm laborer, a son Tolf Clark age 12 born abt. 1908 in Alabama and worked as a farm laborer, a daughter Idel Clark age 9 yrs. born abt. 1911 in Alabama, a daughter Annie R. Badgett age 6 yrs. born abt. 1914 in Alabama, a daughter J.B. Badgett age 4 yrs. 2 mo. born abt. 1915 in Alabama, a daughter Hazel Badgett age 2 yrs. 6 mo. born abt. 1917 in Alabama and a son Edgar Badgett age 8 mo. born abt. 1919 in Alabama.

Hi, I am always looking for new information on John and
Delilah Clark Petty who were married in Chatham co. NC. on
June 13, 1834 and settled around 1840 in Noble Township,
Shelby co. Ind. and came to Maine Prairie Township, Stearns
co. Mn. in 1865-66. John Petty died in December 1877 and
Delilah Clark Petty died on January 13, 1912 and both are
buried in the Maine Prairie Cemetery. I would be happy to

Margaret Clark was born March 20, 1841 possibly in Ohio.
Her father's name was George Clark.
She was married to Marshall Compton on June 13, 1860 in Madison County, Ohio. He served in the Civil War with the 95th Ohio Infantry from 1962 - 1963.
They had four children (two sons and two daughters):
Allen Compton (born April 1861 married Mary ?)
America Compton (born March 1863 married William Braskett)
Wesley Compton, Sr. (September 1865 married Dora Cayton and Lillian Toole)
Kizah or Kizzie Compton (born June 1868 married Wesley Rawlins)
She died September 11, 1918 in Georgesville, Pleasant Township, Franklin County, Ohio.
She was buried on September 14, 1918 in Oak Grove Cemetery, Pleasant Township, Franklin County, Ohio.
Margaret is listed in several years of census records as being unable to read or write.

place/date? I assume that Marshall Compton served in the 1800s and not the
