SYLVESTER CLARK, foreman in the La Crosse Elevator of the Chicago, Milwaukee & St. Paul Railroad Co.; has been in his present position since 1872, and a resident of La Crosse since the fall of 1865. He is a native of Caledonia, Livingston Co., N. Y., where his father, Charles Clark, is still living at 80 years of age. Mr. Clark enlisted in 1862, in the 4th New York Heavy Artillery, and was in the service three years. He was taken prisoner Aug. 24, 1864, near Petersburg, Va.; was at Belle Isle, Pemberton, Libby, and Salisbury, N. C.; was released from the last-named place on the 22d of February, 1865. After he left the army, he returned to Caledonia, N. Y., and came from there to La Crosse in the fall of 1865. He married in March, 1875, in St. Louis, Mo., to Miss Anna Simon, of that place, and has one child - Edna.

I am the granddaughter of James Ones(Onas)? Clark, born ~1913 in Kansas. I cannot find any info on him. He married twice. One marriage to Mildred Hazlett probably in Reno Nevada. They lived in Yuba City, California. They had one female child. When they seperated, he probably moved to Missouri, Arkasas, or Kansas. I have been looking for a long time with no luck. Any help would be great. (Even jail records) Subject has passed on.

I've "rescued" an old photograph of Grover CLARK which was taken at the B.
McCombe Studio in Berrien Springs, Michigan. The photograph appears to have
been taken in the 1870's or 1880's, with Grover likely about 4-5 years old
at the time it was taken. Based on limited research I was able to find
information regarding Grover Clinton CLARK b. 6 Jul 1884 in Buchanan, MI to
parents Richard Vearl CLARK and Louisa Alice HELMICK. Grove died 1 Apr 1891
at the age of only 6 years.
I'm hoping to locate someone from this CLARK Family so that this wonderful
old photograph can be returned to the care of family. If you are a member
of this family, or know someone who might be, please contact me.
Thanks,
Shelley

My great great grandmother Mason was Jane Clark. Jane Clark's marriage and death certificates indicate she was the daughter of John Clark & Mary Devin/Devlin and was born 12 Oct. 1831 in Donegal, Ireland. She was a widow before she married William Mason in St. Quivox (near the city of Ayr, Ayrshire, Scotland) in 1855. She died 21 Nov. 1860 on George Street, Ayr.
Their 3 children were:
Mary Mason, born 1856 Wallacetown Parish, in St. Quivox & Newton on Ayr, Ayrshire, Scotland, married William McLeod of New Cumnock, Ayrshire.
Elizabeth Mason, born 1858 Wallacetown Parish, in St. Quivox & Newton on Ayr, Ayrshire, Scotland, died at a young age.
Jane Mason, born 1860 Wallacetown Parish, in St. Quivox & Newton on Ayr, Ayrshire, Scotland, may have married William Shaw approx. 1880 and lived in Glasgow on the 1881 census.
I would like to make contact with family members or those researching these names who could help me shed some light on details for these families or info on how to contact descendants of these people. Or, just anyone who in their research may have stumbled across information that would be helpful to me in my genealogical research concerning these families.

Ah, well I guess if everyone else has a different story, I could be wrong about the George and Barbara information. I was just going by census and immigration records that seemed to fit.
I live in Springfield, Missouri, and as I said, my husband is a direct descendant of Lazarus and Martha (that much I know for sure). I don't know how many people are still around with the name Bowers in the area, but there are still relatives here!
