I am trying to find the parents of my gg grandfather, Elon David Clark, born 1828 in Sangamon County, IL. I have done a lot of research on Samuel and Lucinda Shelton Clark's family. I don't think his father was David Clark, but I don't have the proof yet. One of Samuel's sons was Elon David Clark born about 1847 in Illinois and who died in May 1880 in Decatur County, IA. I'd love to talk to you about them. Please contact me directly at ruthilton(a)yahoo.com

Appears in "The Wapanucka Press' 11 September 1902 Wapanucka, Johnston County, Indian Territory, now Oklahoma
Paul Clark, 16 year old son of a Methodist minister at Antlers, I. T. was accidentally killed Wednesday evening last week by a bullet from a 22-caliber target rifle in the hand of Ed Eubanks, the 6 year old son of Ed Eubanks. The gun belonged to young Clark and he handed it to the child to look at. While in his hands it was discharged. The bullet took effect in the neck on the right side just in front of the jugular vein and came out two or three inches from the place of entrance on the other side of it severing the vein. The unfortunate youth walked three or four steps and sunk to the ground with blood streaming from the wound and gushing from his mouth and nose. He survived only about to minutes having bled to death. Denison Hearld

They had four boys. George (1875-1910), Joseph (1869-1927), John (1863-1906), and Thomas Frank (1868-1934). I saw you had a Thomas Frank Clark in your post as well but the dates are different. I hope this helps. Do you know what county in Ireland they came from?
