I am assuming this was posted by Mark. The more I look at this line the more I wonder if it ties to my line in some way. My Elias Clark (1755-1845) reportedly had a son named James. I have land deeds from Lansing in Tompkins County NY that indicates that James' wife was named Mary. This was around 1825. I am a descendant of Elias son Peter (1790-1857) who went to Medina County Ohio in 1831 and finally into Ionia County Michigan in 1849. Ionia County is adjacent to Gratiot County and part of my line of Clarks had spread over into Gratiot County (Peter Jr. 1834- 1881) by the 1870's. The problem that I have is that Elias' wife Hiley would have been nearly 50 years young in 1805. I know that their daughter Margaret was born in 1796 in Cayuga/Tompkins County, but, 1805 is 9 years later. My great great grandfather Jabez Hopkins Clark (1827-1914) fathered a daughter at age 54 in 1881, but, his wife was 13 years younger than him. Do you know of any current day Clark male offspring o!
f this line?
If so I have already submitted my DNA to the Family Tree Clark DNA project.
I have distantly tied to other participants in this project. We are currently attempting to discover how and where we connect.

Does the information in your Bible extend back to Joseph CLARK who was married to Nancy MERRILL? They lived in the Guilford Co., Orange Co., Rowan Co. and Rahdolph Co area of North Carolina in the late 1700s. They had one child that I know of, Jane CLARK, born 9/27/1784 and married to John Brown.
Thank you,
