Hello Kjarman...
I wish I could firmly state that I am a descendant of your Alexander Clark bc1846 Scot Family. You are very close to whom I have been seeking for about 30 years now. Did they
emigrate to Ontario, Canada about 1870; and then further emigrated from Ontario, Canada to MA & or RI USA in ca 1879?
Perhaps you have further information on your Family? Where were all the children born? Did they remain in Port Glasgow, Scotland? Anything further on "Alexander CLARK, I.
bc1846? or Alexander CLARK II. b: 1877? Marriages or movements of the Children? Agnes Christie Family? You indicated that Agnes Christie died in 1888.. That makes her
eldest child Elizabeth only 15 years old & youngest living child "Durward" about 4 years old. Did "Alexander CLARK, Sr. I." bc 1846 remarry or move to another location?
Here are similarities that I know about in my Alexander CLARK, family. ::
My Alexander CLARK, bc: 1844? Scotland. (NO birth certificate ); Married:? Mary BOYD, b:28 Oct 1850, Paisley, Renfrew, Scotland; Dau of: John BOYD, bc: 1827, ?Paisley,
Renfrew, Scot (No birth cert.). & Mary GUTHRIE, b:27 Oct 1829 Paisley, Renfrew, Scot. (No marriage certificate on Alexander CLARK & Mary BOYD.) (No Death information on
Alexander CLARK).No info Siblings/Parents!).
Supposedly: Alexander CLARK & Mary BOYD had 9 children; however, I only know of Three of them:
1. Mary CLARK, 10 Oct 1872, Grantham, Lincoln Co. Ontario, Canada.(I have birth Register).
2. William Alexander CLARK, bc: Feb 1877, Merritton, Lincoln Co. Ontario, Canada (NO Birth Record)
3. John CLARK, bc: 1879 in Canada of Scots Parentage. (NO Birth Record). Don't know whether Mary & John had middle names. (Wm.Alexander CLARK, bcFeb 1877..was my
Grandfather.)
This CLARK Family I believe emigrated from Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada on 1 April 1879 to NY via the New York Railway..and went on to MA. USA. They were on the 1880 MA.
Census in Attleboro, Bristol County, MA. USA. (My Grandfather's Naturalization Papers when he was about 2 years old) Assume that he was with his Parents at that time. The
John BOYD Family further emigrated from Ontario, Canada about 1879 and settled in Lincoln, Providence County, Rhode Island, (RI) USA. and appeared on the 1880 RI Census.
New information indicates that my John BOYD, bc1827 Paisley, Renfrew, Scotland is probably the younger brother of : "Archibald BOYD,II. " bc 1821 Paisley... who had
emigrated from Scotland to Artemesia, Grey County, Ontario, Canda about 1870. Both of these Families lived two doors away from each other on the 1880 RI. Census.; and
probably were "Weavers" in the RI & MA Mills at that time.
Known Parents of "Archibald BOYD, Jr., II." were "Archibald BOYD Sr. I. bc: 1786 Paisley, Renfrew,Scot & Margaret FAIRBAIRN, bc: 1791, Edinburgh, Scotland. (Per Family
Contact.)
Based on this new information, I hope to find a Birth Record of John BOYD, bc 1827, Paisley?, Renfrew, Scotland with these same Parents: Archibald BOYD, Sr., I. bc: 1786 ,
Paisley, & Margaret FAIRBAIRN, bc: 1791, Edinburgh, Scot.
Are there any connections to these names, and locations?
I'll be at this Email address for another 3 weeks and then heading back to FL. where my Email address will change; thus, your earliest reply will be appreciated. Any new
information will be helpful as I plan to visit the "Archives" in MASS enroute. ... Thank you.

James, We have CLARKs who moved into AL and MS about that time, brothers of
my line. Have you participated in the CLARK DNA study? That might be of
real value to you -- and us. Let me know if you are interested. You can
visit the CLARK DNA site at www.htmlsd.com Then click on
DNA Results. Go down to the Magnolia Group and click on the first number in
the group, #10046. That will bring up the small version of the family trees
for this group. (You can do the same thing for other groups.) The longer
version of the trees for the Magnolia Group can be found by clincking on the
sentence "Research page for more information about this group." Some of us
might help with the cost of the test if you are interested. Sandy

In Lawrence Co, Alabama in the 1830 census I find a JOSEPH CLARK. He must be newley married because his wife SUSANNAH NORWOOD first child was born in 1831. from census records it states he was born in SC. I have never been able to find out who his parents are after 30 years of research.
Living 2 doors from him is the 1830 census is a Thomas Clark. Does he connect to my Joseph Clark?? Does he connect to the William Clark of Morgan Co, Alabama who died there in the 1830's and left an estate settlement??
Joseph and family are in the 1830--40--50 census of Lawrence Co, Ala. By 1860 he was in Itawamba Co, Mississippi. He was in the 1870--80 census of Chickasaw Co, Mississippi where he died and is buried there.
Does anyone have info on any of these CLARKS?? Would like to talk to you on your connection to these Clarks or any Clark of Lawrence Co, Alabama.
james e. clark
