She did post the photo and it is a fine picture of a good looking family.

Wow! I would love copies of the clark photos. My grandmother was Alice E. Clark dau/of S. V. Clark b. 1857. My grandmother had told me when I was a young man that her ggrandfather had signed the Declaration of Independence. I'm trying to prove that Abraham was her ggrandfather..

I was recently allowed to view and copy tin types and photo's from the family bible of Joseph S. and Ruth S. Clark Myers (my daughter's family). There are tin types & pictures of Joseph & Ruth, Sam Myers, Jake Myers, Ab Clark & wife, Steve Clark, & Tennessee Dunlap. Also included with the family pictures are those I believe to be either Clark or Myers women, their spouses and or children. The pictures are Russell and Becky Dockum, Jim and Cindy Evans, Joe Prim, and W. A. (Bill) and Jim (James) Luce. Joseph and Ruth Myers lived in Menard Co. Ill in the 1850 and 1860 census, but moved to Barton Co., Mo. by 1870. Joseph Myers was born in Virginia and Ruth Clark Myers in Ohio. The Sam Myers could be his father or brother. Jake is their son, Tenn. Dunlap, sil. Ruth's father was William Clark who lived in Ohio born in NY. Her brother William C. Clark lived in Morgan Co., Ill. The photo of Jim and Cindy Evans was taken in Albion, Indiana and has the stamp dated Sept 19, 1866. The !
other tin types and photos are mainly from Springfield, Illinois in the same time period. I would like to share these photos with the appropriate families and learn of any connection with the Clark/Myers family. A posting from 1889 regarding W. C. Clark (Ruth's brother) states his grandfather was a signer of the Declaration of Independence.
Thank you, Jean
I am researching John Hayes Clark. Son of Samuel Clark & Margaret (Hayes)
Clark.
He married Mary Polly Taylor, born 1804 and died after 1880.
I am looking for info on their daughter, Rosy Clark who married Marcus L.
George Jan. 19th, 1961 in Floyd Co. KY. Rosy was my Great, Great Grandmother. I
have her obit and a picture of where she's burried in Modesto, CA.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Suzan
I am also working on the Clark line but hit a brick wall right off the bat. My Grandmother was Aurilla Clark born around July 1863 possible in Ohio. I got this from a census but can't find any info other than she was married to my grandfather Floyd Self they had 8 children, one my father . That is the only records I have been able to find. she seems to have just came out of thin air LOL So even though this probly doesn't help you I thought you'd like to know there seems to be many brick walls in the Clark line.

I am new to the list. My father was Simeon R. Clark,
bn 4/12/1868 in Franklin Co. Married Sarah Elizabeth
Strickland of Johnson Co. His father was George R.
Clark, Bn. 1833, married Martha E. Hoyle of Warren Co.
I think George Clark's parents were Simeon Clark and
Christina (Catherine) of Granville Co. Is anyone
working on this line? I have run into a stone wall at
this point. John and Mary might be the next step back,
but I am not sure.
Thanks, John Clark, Roanoke Va.

Looks like one researcher on Ancestry or Rootsweb, with George R. Clark and
Martha Elizabeth Hoyle. There was one son listed, John Arthur Clark, born 1
Apr 1881 in Franklin, NC and died 29 Jul 1969 in Zebulon. Married a Clare
Elizabeth Marshall. Daughter Mabel Elizabeth Clark, born 1902, married John
Haughton Ihrie, b. 1895, d. 1995.
The 1880 census for Hayesville/Franklin/NC has G. R. Clark and Martha E.
Clark with 6 children, William Thomas, 14; Simeon E, 12; Andrew J, 10;
George B, 7; Dennis T, 4; Mary E, 1 and a sister named Clark, age 52, could
not make out the name (Census said Clark S. Clark?)
George and Martha were married 9 May 1865 in Warren, NC.
This may all be old news to you. I couldn't find much earlier stuff.

My Clark's are all Massachusetts....
