My husband is descended from this line (I think). His family is a little tricky to figure out. His husband would be Robert and Louisa's gggrandson through their daughter Mary Katherine (Mayme). I noticed on the 1920 Census that Lyman is living in Weston and that he's living with a Simpson who has a wife named Louisa A. I'm just guessing that this is his Mom who has remarried. Do you have a death date for Robert and Louisa?

>> Ancestry.com has extended the free search of the Immigration Records through the end of December, so you have another month to check out the collection and find some of those lost ancestors.
This is one of those really free no credit card promotions (not like a free trial). You just need to give them your name and email (and no credit card) and you can start searching the entire immigration collection.
Here's a link to the promotion and more details. (I love free things!)

Do you know when and where Herman Vinton Clark died and where he is buried? Are they all buried in the same cemetery?

Ward, thank you so much. Please let me know how this turns out. I have a lot of work in more recent generations before I can apply for my wife, daughter and granddaughter. It may have to wait until I retire but I intend to register them.

UPDATE: I recently obtained a copy of the silver Volume Six, Third Edition, Mayflower Families Through Five Generations for Stephen Hopkins. On page 7 under Second Generation of Constance Hopkins (Daughter of Stephen Hopkins who married Nicholas Snow) her children (Snow) are listed with Constance shown as
"?x CONSTANCE note that Josiah Paine, town clerk and historian of Harwich, wrote that Nicholas and Constance had a dau. named for her mother who was the first wife of Daniel Doane of Wastham; Daniel was b. prob. Plymouth ca. 1636; d. Eastham 20 Dec. 1712 in 76th yr., and had the following ten Doane children: Joseph, Constant [son], Israel, Daniel, Nathaniel, Constant [dau.}, Rebecca, Abigail, Ruth and Hepzibah; Daniel's first wife was undoubtedly the mother of all the children except Hepzibah."
The California Mayflower Society told me by email that they checked with Plymouth and that this marriage of Constance Snow with Daniel Doane is legitimate and that lineage can be proved with this reference. They also said, however, that this is very, very weak. It will be interesting to see if another one of my supplemental applications to Stephen Hopkins is approved using this reference.

I am searching for the parents and siblings of my great-grandmother,
Clarissa <Reed> CLARK born Nov. 29, 1831. According to the 1880 US
Census she was born in OHIO and her parents were both born in NY. She
married Edmond Cavalier MATHIS on Sep. 18, 1853 at LaSalle Co., IL. On
the 1880 US Census, Clarissa, Edmond & children were in the area of
Benton, Linn Co., Missouri. According to the 1885 Dakota Territory
Census, the family was in the area of Jamestown, North Dakota. Both
Clarissa and her husband Edmond are buried at the Lakeview Cemetery in
Cathay, Wells Co., ND. She was also known as "Clarey" and I've been
told her middle name may have been REED. Any help is very much appreciated!
Many Thanks,

Wish I could help, but Samuel had left the area by 1850. I have not been able to confirm any siblings, though there are plenty of possibilities! I shall keep an eye out for your Clarks as I work though, and let you know if I find anything.

Anita - I'm sorry for not replying to your inquiry. My computer crashed and I lost my genealogy links and hadn't gotten back to the Clarks. If you're still working on them I'd be delighted to trade info. Andrew was their fourth child and settled in Nebraska. My husband is his gg-grandson.

I have been following a Hiram Clark through the census of New Hampshire 1850 to 1880. He seems to be the son of Aaron Clark and Mercy Ham. They are living in Alton, Belknap, New Hampshire. In 1840 Alton was in Strafford county. Aaron and Mercy Ham were married 12 Sep 1814 in Rochester, Strafford, NH. Is Hiram the brother of James L. Clark of Oshkosh Wisconsin that was the owner of the Star Match Factory that later became the Diamond Matches.?James was born in Alton,, Belknap, New Hampshire, 17 April 1824. Hiram also has a brother names Alonzo.

Bev,
I do not have any info on your family, but I believe the Clarks I am researching and your family are related. My John Clark's wife is buried in Tedrow also...Lucina Belknap Clark, as is John's daughter Bessie. If I find any information or a connection I will let you know. Good Luck.
Diana,
I see where you are researching Alexande Clark, son of John Clark.
Was your John Clark married to Mary Taylor?
If so, we're looking for the same ones.
Let me know,
Suzan
