I am still struggling to find a family for my Benjamin CLARK who died in
Bradford in 1892 . By now I am clutching at the proverbial straws, before
giving up on him once again....
A Martha CLARK died in Bradford in the first quarter 1840 . She just
might be his mother. I shall order the certificate (yet another!) but
wondered if some genealogical angel could look to see if there was any
information written in the parish records concerning this death which might
be of interest to me .
With thanks for any help

Margaret
I am still struggling to find a family for my Benjamin CLARK. Clutching at
the proverbial straws, before giving up on him once again....
I now believe he had a brother John CLARK, born in Leeds around 1806, and
would be really thrilled if someone could find a birth for this John CLARK.
If his parents were Benjamin and Martha, you would have made my month!
Also, a Benjamin CLARK died in Leeds in the first quarter 1858. I have
ordered the certificate (yet another!) as I seem to have exhausted all the
possible deaths in Bradford where he was living in 1851, but wondered if
there was any information written in the parish records concerning this
death.
With thanks for any help

According to Taber's Medical Dictionary for Nurses, 4th Edition dated 1905
MARASMUS (mar-as-mus) Gr. marasmos, waste. Emaciating, wasting. Infantile
atrophy occurs almost wholly as a sequel to acute diseases, especially
diarrheic diseases of infancy. Most common from 6 to 18 months of age. Is
extreme wasting, child becoming a mere living skeleton. Then it goes on for
the symptoms.
The book was my Great Grandmothers study book for the Chicago School of
Nursing, Chicago, Illinois. She was a midwife in Saratoga County, NY

I have a death certificate, which is not the one I was seeking, for Benjamin
CLARK, son of Benjamin CLARK, a tailor of Church Street, Manningham, who
died 17 September 1852 age 17 months. He died of marasmus which I think is
mal-nutrition. If anyone can lay claim to this family, I should be happy
to send them the certificate.

Hi everyone
A long shot in the dark, but does anyone know anything about my g-grandfather as detailed below. Unfortunately I don't know if the facts are correct as this has come from family members.
George Frederick Al(l)ington CLARK, born Hawick, Scotland, mother Ellen Al(l)ington
Ellen is believed to be related, somehow to Rev. Cyril Alington Dean Of Durham Cathedral and Dean Of Eton College.
George went to India and served in the Kings Royal Rifles and 9th Durgas Indian Army. He returned to the UK in about 1925 leaving the family behind. Whilst in India he married a Ursula Hyde Barker.
I am unable to locate anything as yet, as I mention I don't know if any of the above facts are correct or accurate, can anyone help me ?
Regards
Mark
