Dear List Members,
I am new to your list, and am in need of your assistance. I am seeking information on Walter Clark, born September 26, 1897 in Denison Twp., Illinois; died October 17, 1974 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Knox County, Indiana, and his wife, Georgia (Baker) Clark. She was born September 23, 1907 in Lovell, Wyandot County, Ohio; died November 11, 1986 in Sangamon County, Illinois. They were married during 1926 in Lawrence County, Illinois. They had a family of at least three (3) children: Robert R. Clark; Philip E,; and Joan Clark (who married August Fields).
I am seeking assistance with Walter and Georgia and their children's genealogical information, along with any other information that I might be offered. I will greatly appreciate your help.
Thank You,
Liz

Gloria,
I have a Peter Clark (1790-1857) who moved to Medina County Ohio in or around 1831. He and his wife Hannah Taylor Clark (& children ) resided there in Chatham Township until 1849. In 1849 they moved north into Ionia County Michigan. I know that at least one of their children Phoebe married a Seth Lewis and spent the remainder of her life in Medina County. My Clarks came to Medina County from Tioga/Chemung ( now Schuyler) County New York. They resided in the village (Township) of Catharine in Tioga. I don't know if our lines have any ties , but, Peter's father Elias (1755-1845) did have a brother mentioned in his Revolutionary War pension. Keep an eye out for my line and if you want any additional details feel free to contact me.
Dennis Clark in Michigan

Subject: [Clark-Clarke] NY/OH/Wisconsin CRANDALL FAMILY w/CLARKE connection
Is anyone familiar with the Levi ( b. 1825 NY) and Loretta
Crandall/Crandle (b. 1829 inOH )Family of Farmington, Jefferson co WI?
Levi had a daughter b. in medina co OHIO, and she was also named
loretta., and daug named frances also, who I think was born in WI, and
possibly more ch later..
This Levi lived next door to Joseph Crandall/Crandle, and was also in
Medina co Ohio when Joseph was, so I feel he is the 'missing son' that I
have been searching for. Let me explain, simply.
Joseph and Mary Clarke Crandall(various spellings in the same family)were
married in 1824/1825 in Lewis co NY and all of their children are named
in the 1850 census, but Joseph is found in the 1840, with an 'extra' son
in the age bracket to fit Levi, who would have been old enough to be on
his own and married in the 1850 census... This 'other son' is not
mentioned by name but is referred to in his brother Rodolph's diary as
'my brother, who could not serve in the war because of a bad leg suffered
in an accident as a child' All of Rodolphs other brothers served in the
civil war, and are documented. Because of Levi having lived in the same
places, and because Levi had his mother MARY living with him at the time
of his death, I think that this may be my missing link in the family...
does anyone have further info or census on Levi in 1860 or later??
thank you

Hi, there ...me again ...I've been off list for quite some time now.
I just got a letter back from a wonderful Inverness Vital Records
researcher, Margaret Hood at the Official Records Office in Inverness.
This info cost me a packet so be gentle on me. But it was all that she
could find with the records she had. I am hoping that more can be found
among local researchers and connected family members.
Now, I have more questions then answers again.
Dear Margaret was unable to crack my "nutters."
John Fraser d. April 7, 1878 at the age of 66 years. His father was John
Fraser [farmer] and his mother was Isabella Clark-Fraser...both
deceased. Young John lived on Friars Street in Inverness. He had three
wives: 1. Ann Fraser, 2. Mary Campbell, and 3. Jessie McLean. His
daughter, Anna Bella Fraser signed the death warrant.
Jessie Fraser d. January 9, 1893 at the age of 70. Widow of John Fraser
[carter] Jessie was John Jr.'s sister, therefore the subsequent info is
the same, although the mother is noted as Bella Fraser and not Isabella
Fraser. I am told the two names are interchangeable. In Jessie's case
her son, William signed the warrant.
Questions:
1. is anyone familiar with this brood?
2. if so, can you shed any more light on the family, especially, the
parents of each of the wives of John?
3. and if so, can you shed any light on their parentage and lineage up
the Fraser and Clark lines?
Your assistance would be greatfully received.
Kindest regards, Al Dempster
