Hello Again Fellow CLARK Listers!
If you saw my last post this ties right in to the same
family.
My G>G>G>Grandmother was Hannah CLARK(E), b.@1872 in
Vermont, d. Feb. 7th, 1846 in Hardwick Massachusetts,
m. Samuel HASKINS, Jan.19th,1804 in Hardwick, Mass.
Though CLARK without an E is a very common middle name
in my family, Hannah CLARK's name is spelled with an E
in the book 'Massachusetts Deaths, vol. 9, and in the
1900 census record of her son.
There seems to have been a large migration from the
Hardwick Mass. area around the mid 1800's, probably
having to do with the Firelands/Western Reserve
migrations. Included in this exodus were the Hardwick,
Mass. CLARK(E) and HASKINS families.
There may be a connection between my Hannah CLARKE and
her daughter-in-law, Lucinda CLARKE - maybe aunt and
neice?
Are there any records of a Hannah CLARKE or
CLARK/CLARKE family in Vermont around mid to late
1700's? Maybe in Rutland?
Does anyone know of Vermont - CLARKE or other families
who migrated to the Worcester County, Mass. area?
I hope the above makes sense. Sorry I'm so long
winded.
Any help would be most appreciated.
Thanks soooooo much in advance,
Carl

Hello Fellow CLARKE Listers!
My G>G>Grandmother, Lucinda CLARK(E), born in Concord,
Geauga (now Lake) County, Ohio is one of my most
frustrating 'brick walls'.
She married Henry HASKINS in Lake County, Ohio in
1846.
On her marriage license her name is spelled CLARKE.
In a family history written by my Grandfather, Harold
Clark(note the middle name)HASKINS, Lucinda CLARK is
the sister of Abigail CLARK of Chardon, Geauga, Ohio.
Abigail has been proven to be the daughter of
Nathaniel and Sarah (CURTIS) CLARK who migrated from
Hardwick Mass. Abigail CLARK was Henry HASKINS' first
wife and 2 years after her death, he married Lucinda.
There is no mention of a Lucinda in any of the
documentation of the Nathaniel CLARK family. I must
conclude that Lucinda is not the sister of Abigail or
a child of Nathaniel CLARK'S.
Who are the parents and family of my Lucinda CLARK??
Thanks sooooooooo much in advance,
Carl in Florida
p.s. Concord Ohio is just a few miles north of Chardon.

Hi Shelley, just a reminder that the CLARKE-L(a)rootsweb.com
is the larger list and also had CLARK researchers, just a
suggestion, but perhaps you'd find a connection on that list!

I've "rescued" a photograph of Georgia CLARK which was taken at the
Klinedinst Studio in Madison, New Jersey. The photograph was probably taken
in the 1880's or 1890's with Georgia appearing to be in her 20's at the
time. Based on limited research I believe that this may be a photograph of
Georgianna C. CLARK the daughter of James D. & Sarah L. CLARK who were
recorded during the 1880 census living in Chatham, NJ.
James D. CLARK was listed as age 51 born in NJ to NJ born parents while
Sarah L. CLARK was 37 years old, born in PA to PA born parents. Four
children were living with their parents including, Abram M. age 17, Marietta
age 13, Georgianna C. age 9, and Sarah J. age 2, all born in NJ.
I'm hoping to locate someone from this family so that this wonderful old
photograph can be returned to the care of family. If you are a member of
this family or know someone who might be, please contact me.
Thanks,
Shelley
I have found reference to Elizabeth Clark born in 1798 in New York to Thomas and Effy Clark and baptized by Benjamin Moore minister of Trinity Episcopal church in Manhattan, NY.
Does anyone out there have any information about her and family?
Sharon

As you transcribe your census today, take a minute to think about the young men and women on them who were not there for the next one.
Although the following link is to a Canadian site, and the majority of my mailing lists are not, I am hoping you will take the time to click and watch. I feel this video has an international message, and hope you do too.

Dear Judy,
My Clark family is from the New Haven Connecticut area. I can only go as
far back as Hezekiah Clark who fought in the war of 1812. Where is your
Clark family from? Thanks for your help.
