My ancestor is John Alexander Clark I or Sr b Aug 2 1793 maybe Missouri,
died Jul 16 1857 Lavaca co Tx.
He was lst married to an Ann Brown and they had 9 children in prob St Louis
MO.
I only know 5 of the children, trying to find the other 4.
-Mary Eliz Clark b 1816, I do not have her dod but she md Benjamin Stoner &
they had John Henry Brown Stoner b 1840 and Elisa Frances Stoner b 1836.
-George Wilson Clark 1819-1887, never md
-Emiline Clark [twin] 1821-1900 [my ancestor] md John Wesley Hinch
-Angeline Clark [twin] 1821-not sure when she died, prob in MO though not
TX.
-Harriett Brotherton Clark no dob/dod md Enoch Mather Marvia.
I know they had 4 more children per a 1936 article in the Tx Cattleman, but
do not know their
names. The children who came to TX fr MO with John Alexander Clark sr were:
from his lst wife-George Wilson, Emiline; and fr his 2nd wife [Margaret
Lanham] he brought
John Alexander Clark II b 1834 MO and Thomas Clark b 1836 MO.
John and his 2nd wife had 10 children, from the 3rd child down believe they
were born in Tx as they left MO around 1837 and their 3rd son William Clark
was b 1838 Tx, d 1847.
Clark's were a large family and cattle raisers in Tx.
If anyone is familiar with this family in Missouri, I sure would like to
share information.
thank you, Nena
