Since I first posted I have learned My grandfather was born in Barry County MO. His father was Elijah Clark, Stone Co. Census 1860 and his mother Lavania Hale, barry Co. MO. Elijah died 1874 and was buried in the Hale Cemetery in Barry Co and moved to a Stone Co. Cemetery in the 1940's. Lavania married Hans Simmons and had more children. One daughter married a Rose in Barry and had 9 children. Maybe this will ring a bell with some one, I hope. I really want to know how many children Lavania had by Elijah besides my grandfather. Anything will help, please. LaDonna Clark Timmerman

My great great grandfather was Joseph William Clark. He married Lulabelle (Lulu) Hopewell. I have no idea when they were married, sometime before 1894.
I would like to find more information on him. The only thing I know is that he may have been from St. Matthews, KY but I don't know for sure. I have no birth dates, family names or anything.
I haven't had any luck in finding anything on him.
If anyone out there has any information or suggestions please email me at Louwelouwe(a)aol.com.
Thank you.

Do you have any names that I can check. We have a postcard from Meridan to my grandmother's sister in Trenton so we assumed they lived there at that time. My grandfather, Eddie, died when my father was three and my grandmother moved to Trenton, Tennessee and lived there until she died. We do not know much about the Clark s but have a few names and dates. We have found one distant cousin in Texas and hope to fine more relatives. If you would like this information e-mail me and I will send it to you. Marcy

Prepare and William are my gggrandparents. I come from William Jr's line. I have William Sr's father as Robert (Thomas) McGaughey but I have nothing on his mother. My father is Mark Calvin McGahuey, his father Calvin Orville McGahuey, his father Sherman Franklin McGahuey, his father Calvin Luther McGahuey who is the son of William McGaughey Jr. I'm trying to figure out why all the other children of Prepare and William Sr. spelled their last name McGahey, and where it got changed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I still have not found a lot on my Clarks and nothing for absolutely sure. All I had to go on was an old bible my grandfather had. I have not seen it in 20 years but what I had written down in it was my great grandmother was Emily Clark Casteel and her father was John Fin Clark and mother Stacy? and that she was born in Montogomery Co. Ohio.
What I have found and seems to be correct is She married an Amos Casteel in Cochocan ? Co. not sure of spelling don't have my info handy. Her father was John Payne Clark and her mother was Stacy Glasscock. She md my great grandfather Hiram Josleyn in Spencer Co. IN in 1847 and she is listed there with her husband Amos and three children in 1850 census and a John P. Clark whom I am assuming was her father. He was the right age. When I trace this family back it comes from that Cochcocan or whatever Co. In Ohio and it all seems to fit.
My cousin whoes great grandmother was my grandfather's sister ahd the Payne listed as possibly Stacy's last name but as we have weeded out things it does appear much of the information they had was incorrect including the Montogmery Co. Ohio.
We have a picture of a Merietta Clark Carpenter that we cannot find fits into our family. Would you happen to have a Merietta Clark in your line.
These Clarks came to Ohio from VA.
Our grandparents always told us we were related to the Clark of the Lewis and Clark expedition. I have found nothing to prove this or disprove it.
If your family would fit into anything I have found would love to see your info.
Betty
