Deb
I'm sure sorry it has taken so long to get back to you. I lost my phone service last Friday and they finally got it fixed yesterday. One of the joys of living in a rather remote area.
It would appear that my Clarks left NY between 1855 and 1859, as the 1970 census for McHenry Co. indicates that all of the children were born in NY except for the youngest born in Illinois. Also their is some indication that George was born in St. Lawrence Co. of NY in either 1852 or 1853 (depends who tells the story). My hope when contacting you was that we had found brothers who followed one another to Illinois and possibly onward. It would sure help my cause knowing Katherine's husbands name.
Did your family also have a George? I have noticed several sites where a George W. Clark's mother was Nancy.
Catch ya later.
Rae

The next Cader Clark was b Apr 22, 1827 in Camden Co, GA. He married Julia Ann Drury and was the son of Jacob, Jr by his first wife.
Then we have John Cader Clark b c 1849, son of Jacob Frances Clark and Martha Ann Miller. Jacob Frances was the son, of John and Pollie Plunkett. John was the son of Jacob Clark, Sr making John Cader the ggrandson of Jacob, Sr.
Will be happy to share my information. I don't have but one wife for Cader C. Do you have the other one?

We are researching the same tree. This is great news. I am the I am the gr.gr.gr.gr.gr grandaughter of Jacob Clark an Sarah Stephens. Cader C Clark was one of their 12 children. He, Cader was born according to my records 1801 in Camden Co., Ga and married to my knowledge at least twice. I don't know if he is the same Cader but his siblings names were John, Vicy, Martha, James B, Elizabeth, Sarah, William, Richard, Mary (Polly) and David and they were born between 1784 and 1817. Looking for any photos or further info. Any would be deeply appreciated. My grandfather was Thomas Emanuel Clark who married Elmira Fields (Drury). Hope this helps us both. Look forward to hearing from you again.

We recently learned our grandfather, William Clark, was actually born John E. Hussey in Haverhill, MA, July 6, 1877, parents John and Mary [Smith?]. Records obtained from his church indicate he was adopted by a Clark family but nothing more on specifics such as date, adoptive parent names, etc. He always told us he was from Brookline/Boston, MA. He mentioned brothers Tom and James and a sister Mary Ann, but we don't know if they were biological or adoptive siblings. If he was adopted by the Clarks, the father might have been William John and mother, Mary [Carey]. My grandfather made his way to Michigan and he and my grandmother (Rosalie Boussicaud, employed by the Raymond Greene family) were living there by 1926. It's a long shot, but if you've got an adopted William in your family, I hope it's grandpa! Thank you for any help you can provide.

The Arner Family Association seeks descendants of:
(_____) CLARK, Mary E. Aurner, 1860-1943, Kingston, DeKalb, IL; San Mateo, CA.
You are almost certainly descendants of Hans Ulrich Arner and Verena Eberhard, 1735 immigrants from Switzerland to Philadelphia. Join us for an August 24-25, 2002 gathering in beautiful Lehigh County, Pennsylvania (1 hour north of Philadelphia). For “reunion” information or to see where you fit into the *rner family, visit Joe Erner’s website at www.geocities.com/~erner/gen/arner which documents the Arner/Aner family to the 1500s, or contact us through the Arner Listserv at ARNER-L(a)rootsweb.com. We’re planning two fun-filled days including a catered Pennsylvania Dutch luncheon and the dedication of a memorial stone in the Heidelberg Union Church cemetery to honor the immigrants. Help us widen our circle of cyber-cousins and plan to attend. We welcome you

Dear Carol,
Yes, we have corresponded in the past and shared our Clark info. I, too, am looking for information before Sherman without any results as yet.
My connection is thru LEON L. CLARK, b.1878 Mespo, Trumbull Co. who married my great aunt, Alta Grace Venn. I think I've sent you my information, but if you need what I have on that family and their 4 children, I'll be happy to send it on. I also have tons of info on the Venn family back to Somerset, England.
My condolences on your puter problems - just happened to me late November and I'm only now getting straightened out.
Feel free to email me at emmaggg(a)fuse.net (new address).

Gayle, you may have already contacted me; however, I lost all my email information and contacts recently due to having to reformat my hard drive. The Sherman Clark you are asking about is my ggggrandfather. I am descended through his son, Christopher Columbus Clark; then his son, Adelbert Benjamin Clark to my grandfather, Rolland Leslie Clark. I have a little information about the Clark's but I am wondering about Sherman's parents as well as his siblings. I have a picture labelled George and John Clark, cousins of CCClark. That can only mean that Sherman had at least one brother. Does anyone out there know this family? I have posted a picture of Christopher to the Ashtabula genweb page and I have sent the picture of George and John Clark to the Mercer Co., PA genweb to be posted.
