Surname: Clark, Richardson, Kidd, Morrow
-------------------------
I am looking for the family of James Clark b. c. 1805-9 SC (depending on
Census) Married Elvina, Elvira, Elva b. 1811 SC d. c. 1864 GA. No children.
2nd marriage: Mahala Richardson b. 1833 GA Dau. of John and Eliz. Catherine
Richardson. Both born in SC and living in Marion Co. GA.
Children of James and Mahala Richardson Clark:
James d. at 21 of fever. no children
Susan married late in life. no children
Ely married Ella Mae Griner of Mitchell Co. GA.
Ely and Ella Griner Clark had two children: James Elias and Nora Alzeta.
James moved to Marion Co. GA between 1830-40. He farmed in the Red Cut
area of Marion Co. Although,James and Elvina did not have children, they
had children living in their home in 1850: Rebecca Kidd age 5 b. SC, William
Kidd age 17 b. SC and John Morrow age 20 b. SC. There may be a family connection
with these children. On the 1870 census, James and his second wife, Mahala,
had living with them, Jane Kidd b. c. 1846 SC.
I am interested in the Kidd and Morrow connection, the parents of James
Clark and where in SC he was born. Would like to also know Elvina's maiden
surname.
Still searching for information on Silas Clark, wife Chloe of Independence township, NY. Listed in the 1860 census with the following children, Rosella, Almina, and Anson who was 17.
Silas's parents were Henry and Betsey Teater Clark(who also married Joseph Bledsoe in 1815, and had several more children).Henry and Betsey also had a son named Asa who was born around 1802. Any information or leads on this family would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you, Janet Lee Clark-Davis
Looking for others researching family of gg grandfather William S.
CLARK born 1808 somewhere in NY to unknown. parents. I am looking for
the date and place of death of William and his spouse. In 1838 in
Wells County, Indiana, William married Apolline JOHNSON, b 1816 in
North Carolina, daughter of Solomon JOHNSON and Sarah SANDERS. Born to
William and Apolline in Indiana were Solomon, Sarah Jane, James, and
Henry. Son John was born in Illinois about 1847. The entire family is
in Buchanan County, Iowa between 1849 and 1857 where according to the
county history William is a farmer, school teacher, justice of the
peace, and county clerk. William, Apolline, James, Henry, and John
appear in the 1860 census in San Bernardino, California. In San
Bernardino William is a teacher, school principal, and County
Superintendent of Schools. From the census, tax records, and land
records he is in S.B. at least until the 1870s. Daughter Sarah Jane,
her first husband Eli Willard WELLMAN, my gg grandparents, and son
Frank WELLMAN, my grand father, are in San Bernardino by 1860. Sarah
Jane and Eli are both buried in San Bernardino. Sarah Jane's second
husband was Dr. David Noble SMITH of the Arrowhead Springs health spa
in the 1860s. Looking for others who are researching these families or
their descendants. Thank for any information you may have. Margaret
I am looking for descendents of Benjamin Clark (B abt 1821 in East
Marion, NY) and Elizabeth Cobb (b abt 1824 in Conn). They were married
Oct. 4, 1843 in Groton, Conn and had three sons: George H., James
Potter, and Joseph. The families moved about from East Marion on Long
Island, NY to Greenport, NY, Shelter Island, NY, Niantic, Conn, and
Wakefield, RI.
I am still looking for information about a Ruth Mansfield Clark who was
living in Hoadly, Virginia in Prince William County in 1933 or staying there.
Are there any researchers working on the Clark families in Virginia that
have information about this time period and this name?
Thanks
Shirley
Hi Linda,
I have just found the Clarks, Walkers and Wilmots, as of Friday. All I
know is that they all were in Kentucky until the late 1830's when they moved
to the Hancock Co. area. Marriages seperated some of them and my Martha
Clark Woodworth ended up in Ottumwa, Wapello Co., Iowa where she married my
grandfather Alfred Leonard in 1873. It is quite possible that there is a
relationship between your Daniel and my Martha Clark Woodworth Leonard .
Lets keep digging and we will soon find out. Lets keep in touch.
Whatever I find I will send to you and you do the same. I will send you
what I have found already and this might help.

Patti,
Can you tell me more about your TN Joseph Clark? My Monmouth County NJ Joseph
Clark (ca 1772-1854) moved to "Tenn County NC" ca 1800, and was there in 1803
when he registered a deed in NJ. But he moved back to NJ, at least in time
for the 1808 Tax List in Middletown. Since he was married in 1798 to Mary
Roberts, he may have had children in TN. Perhaps he traveled there with his
brother Richard or one of his many CLARK cousins. William was a name
frequently used in Monmouth Clarks. Have you previously see a NJ-TN Clark
connection?
Do you know which counties in TN were once called "Tenn County NC"?
Thanks!
Judi

Since I have both Clarks and Armstrongs in my Ancestral Line, I'm
interested in anything that you might have on theses surnames. Does this
Zella Armstrong have any info.

Hi Judi.... I have a LOT of NJ Clarks in my 18,000 Clark name data base
but I can't tie in any of the family you mention. Do you have any
spouses of: "...had sons Richard and Joseph. ..."
Do you have any other kids of "Richard

Perhaps I have some of them and can give you the email address of others
researching those people...
