I have been looking for a long time for Martha Clark born 1851 probably Adams Co. Ohio, have recently found possible parents: John and Thurmanthis Clark. Does anyone know anything about "Thurmanthis"? It sounds like a Greek name?
Appreciate any help.

Could you please list the names, dates etc of the other heirs
(besides Alfred L. Clark)? Many of us have Clarks that could be
from a sibling.

I am looking for information on Worth Berry Clark, his wife is Maxine. I
know they lived in Peoria, IL between 1970 - 1975. They had three children
that I know of - William Ellis, Francis and Edward. The children would have
all been in their late teens or early twenties at that time. Any
information would be greatly appreciated.

(PLEZ)OR PLEASANT is his birth name .clark was his last he married a
MARTIN. all my mom knows is what was in the family bible . have his
childrens names
i believe in miracles.
Benjamin CLARK (b.ca 1760) married Mary FLEMING, 28 Dec 1782. Mary Fleming
(b.ca 1766) was a daughter of John and Mary (Bailey) Fleming, of Granville
and Warren Counties, North Carolina.
Benjamin Clark settled in Buncombe County, North Carolina where he bought 400
acres of land in 1800 on the Pigeon River, near Canton, NC. Deed records
whereby his land was distributed among his heirs document the names of his
children. I am a descendant of his son, Alfred L. Clark (1803-1888), who
settled in Catoosa County, Georgia.
One secondary source states that Benjamin Clark came to NC from Danville,
Virginia. This has not been confirmed and may not be accurate.
I wish to correspond with anyone researching this family. Your response is
appreciated.

Is Plez or Pleasant a first name? If so what is the surname? Pleasant is a
common name among the Proffitts. At least one line married a Clark. If his
birth name is Pleasant Clark I could have a (very remote) possibility as to
his parentage.

The person who told you that William Clark was never married probably was
confusing him with Meriwether Lewis. In Ambrose's book about Lewis and Clark
he indicates that Clark married a Julia Hancock. Lewis never married.
Annie,
The Clark of Lewis and Clark never married and had no children. There
were other siblings in this family; just one male who had descendants.
Maybe someone will supply the name.

Hi:
I am new to this list and looking for information on the descendants of
William Clark of Lewis and Clark fame. It is family lore that I am descended
from William Clark, and I have a great uncle whose first name is Clark.
However, I come from a nice PA Dutch family named Shirk. I am trying to make
this connection by working forward through the Clark line and backwards
through the Shirk line. If anyone out there can give me some help on this
line, it would be greatly appreciated.

Also, an old repeat query (see end for anew one).
Joseph Clark, born in Ireland came to Alaska in about 1879 He married
(one of few white men ever to do so) an Malemute Eskimo Woman, they had one
daughter Masa Nathalia, born 1880 The father worked for the shipping
company that owned the quick silver ship the Bear . Nathalia was told
that her father was drowned when the ship went down with all hands
sometime in the next five to seven years. Catholic missionaries took her
away from her mother and she was raised in Holy Cross orphanage and
school, In Holy Cross Alaska. She married a Russian man at age 15 and
had 23 Children several of which she buried in the snow along side of
the trail when they were born and died or died later. She has a large
family of many wonderful people. At age 95 she spoke 5 languages.
She thought she remembered her father said he had two brothers
While I am on the Clarks I also am looking for information on George Clark

1820) son Berry Clark born 22 Feb 1820 Married Margaret Meek Had nine
children including Millie named after his mother. also John, Sarah,
George,Eli, Joseph, Worth, Liza and Mollie.
Most of this family are buried in Holt co. Missouri.

NEW INFORMATION ON A JOHN CLARK. Alaska mid to late 1860's just

might be my Joe. Big family, lots of kids, (more than one family at a
time) Lake Clark Alaska named after him. Anyone??

Hello, list -
I am looking for a GLENN CLARK born probably about 1900 or 1901 in Iowa or
near there. His sister, Ruth Clark, (my maternal grandmother) was born Dec.
10, 1905. He is believed to have died about 1951. He was married to a Mary
Jean(nette) Taylor and had one son, Randy Clark, who was born in 1946 and
who lives in Charlottesville, VA. Randy is my cousin.
Sorry to know so little...can anyone help me find out anything else about
Glenn?
Would so appreciate any information anyone can share. Thanks! Sharyn Wisely

I am reposting my brick wall ancestor in hopes of connecting with
descendants.
My gggrandfather, Thomas Christopher Clark, was born in 14 !ug 1831,
birthplace unknown. He married Mary Laura Martin, b. 27 May, 1838,
possibly in Scotland. At least one of their children, my ggrandfather,
Walter H. Clark, was born in Washington, DC. He was born in 1869.
Other children include Horace A., Frederick L., William A., Oscar H.,
and Luella J. I do not have birthdates for them, but the first three
were born before 1869.
The family moved to Nebraska about 1880, and T.C. Clark served as a
Methodist minister in a number of southeast Nebraska towns. Mary died
in 1883 and Thomas in 1904, in Lincoln.
I have obituaries, Civil War records, and even Mary's will. These have
been helpful, but so far, reveal nothing about either T.C.'s or Mary's
origins.
Would love to connect with a descendant.
Barbara Clark Archer
I have a William Perry Clark b 1838 Hancock Co, Ind, d 1920
Bethany, Mo
married 1868 Harrison Co, Mo. Sarah Emeline Smith
their children all born Harrison Co, MO.
Mazeppa b 1869

Rosanna b 1875
Nancy b 1877
Benjamin Franklin b 1879
John Edward b 1881
Mattie Belle b 1883
Austin Enoch b 1885
Cornelius Alvin b 1887
This Clark family had several William Perry and Joseph Marion.
Any connections ?

Dear Ms. Craft,
Do you have any information regarding the William Clark born about 1839?
Do you know the name of his spouse or children? I have been searching for my
great great grandmother's father for sometime now. His name was William
Clark born about 1833 according to family history. His daughter my great
great grandmother was Ella Frances Clark born about 1869. Both William and
daughter Ella are buried in Randolph County, Indiana. Thank you for your
time and consideration for my inquiries. Shauna
I have been searching for the family of Martha A. Clark, daughter of James H. Clark and ____. She was born in 1850 possibly in Adams Co. Ohio?? Some records say Missouri ??? Married Andrew J. Corbin (he was from Highland Co. OH) and moved to Kansas, near Topeka and then to Los Angeles where she died in 1921. Adams Co. courthouse burned, so there is no marriage record. death Certificate just lists her father. mother "unknown".
Martha Clark Corbin was extremely small, probably lucky if she reached 5 feet tall.
Anything sound familiar? Thanks,
Barbara
