I have been trying to trace the lineage of the wife of Edmund WELD; have been
told she was Amy Anne Brewster of William Brewster/Prudence Peck or that she
was Ann CLARK, d/o a Sir Francis Clark. I have no idea who this Sir Francis
Clark is to begin to research him, can anyone help?
>From TAG July 1979 the parish records of St Peter's Sudbury, Suffolk, England
show that on 12 April 1585 Edmund Wylde and Ame Brewster were married and
wife Amye was sole execturix of Edmund's will/estate. Was Amy born a Clark;
md. 1st a Brewster and then Edmund Weld or ???????? How does one come up
with the Clark connection if there is one - my information about this comes
to me 3rd hand so I really do not have anything to go on. Is there anyone
else researching this line?

Mary Elizabeth Clark born about 1826 in Plad (?), Dallas Co, MO, married
about 1844 in Dallas Co, MO to Franklin Judd, died about 1864 in Bennett
Springs, Dallas Co, MO.
Very sketchy -- any connections?

Hello Clark Hunters,
Since I last sent to this list I have found quite a bit more about the family of Hezekiah and
Sylvia HILL CLARK. At the end of this posting is a descendency chart of their family from
Hezekiah and Sylvia. The lines of their predecessors can be found in FAMILIES OF ANCIENT NEW
HAVEN, Vol. 1, compiled by Donald Lines Jacobus, 1923.
>From Cornwall, Litchfield Co., Connecticut, Hezekiah and Sylvia CLARK moved to northern Tioga
Co., NY around 1803. This area would eventually become Danby, Tompkins Co., NY. It appears that
several families,(related to the Clarks and otherwise), from the same area of CT settled in this
area. There were also several other Clark families that settled in Tompkins Co. I had thought
that David CLARK, who had settled in the area somewhat earlier than Hezekiah, may have been
closely related. F.Y.I. another researcher sent me the following information that disputes this
belief.
"David Clark's children were Mary, Calvin, Josiah, David, Sabra, Luther, William, Annis, Olive
and George. David was from Grandville, Hampshire County, MA, and his parents were Joseph and
Grace Thomas Clark. Joseph was b. 1718 in Rochester, Plymouth County, MA and had children
Elizabeth, Maria, Samuel, Daniel, Amos, Josiah, Lucy, and of course David. Joseph's parents
were David (b. March 24 1693/94) and Maria Hammond Clark. Their children were Hannah, Mary
and Joseph. David's parents were Thomas (b. 1645 in Plymouth, MA, d. May 12, 1739 in Coventry,
Tolland, CT)and Martha Curtis Clark, and their children were Mercy, Martha, Rachel, Thomas,
Ann, Joseph, Deborah, Charity, David, Samuel and Nathaniel".
>From census enumerations it appears that all of the sons and at least one of the daughters had
moved on with Hezekiah and Sylvia to New York. Uri seems to be the only son who stayed in Danby,
NY. Calvin is last seen around 1825, and Hezekiah Jr. around 1834. I could not find any
Surrogate records for either, so I must assume they left the area, although this is a shaky
assumpton. So, does anyone have a Calvin and Deidamia CLARK, or Hezekiah and Chloe CLARK in
their lines within the time frame mentioned? Also, except for Sylvia CLARK HART, does anyone
know who the daughters of Hezekiah and Sylvia married, and where they lived? And if anyone has
any other information about the other descendents, I would be glad to have it. Thanks.
