That is a VERY OLD and outdated listing. Indeed, I don't know why she
published it in the CLARION in the first place.
I do have a database on the Clark families of early Elizabethtown, NJ
and would be happy to try to answer questions. However, please remember:
(1) I am looking at queries on this message list, and will note those to
which I may have answers and will answer them.
(2) There were more than 40 different and distinct colonial Clark families.
My base is concerned with Elizabethtown, NJ -- not Mass., not Vermont, not
the south, etc.

Franki,
I'm looking for an Anson Clark, b. IN about 1820 and his son William D.
born 1859. If I spot any early Williams, I'll let you know and perhaps
you could do the same for me.
By the way, I did find several Clarks who had been in Lagrange Co., IN,
earlier over in IL in the 1850 census, some of whom returned by 1860.
Maybe there was a mild recession? Anyway, I'd try the censuses of
neighboring states. In 1820, IN was very much frontier, and I don't
think people paid much attention to state lines. In fact, wasn't it
still all the Northwest Territory then?

I am searching for ANY information concerning:
HENRY CLARK
he first married Charlotte Milem Oct. 13, 1886 in Henry co. Ill
he married (2) Alice Allen 15 Nov. 1902 in Henry co. ill.
This is my starting point, and it has been two years, and I still have not
received ANY information on them...I would love to get going on this
surname.
If you know of any information , I would greatly appreciate it. thanks
cindy
Dear List,
I received some questions from a lady and am hoping that someone on the list
might be able to help me answer them? I'm trying to find my great
grandparents and have very little to go on, and no proof of any of it. I sure
could use your help.
John Clark was born 1760 abt. Va. (I think.) He is said to be the son of
Benjamin Clark b. abt. 1740, and I don't have a clue where Benjamin was born
or to whom he married. I would like to find this out too.
John Clark married Celia (Catherine) Harris b. 1780 either in Va. or Ky. She
is said to be the daughter of Thomas Harris b.abt. 1750 in ?? Thomas Harris
is said to show up on the census for 1787 in Louisa County, Va. ( I have not
been able to find him there). He is said to have married Sarah Hall. Sarah is
said to be the daughter of David Hall, but haven't found any proof of that
either.
If anyone can help me with the above questions, and the ones below that Judy
asked me about....I sure would appreciate it. My Clark family was in Kentucky
a long time, as my grandfather James Pope Clark b. 1871 was born in Bullitt
County, Ky. His father was John Clark b. 1849 Ky. son of Davis Clark b. 1817
and Mahala Dickey Clark.
Thanks and wishing you all a safe and happy New Year!!

Did John Clark get a military land grant in Kentucky? Did Benjamin?
Do you know the death dates for John and Benjamin Clark?
Did Benjamin Clark die in KY or VA?
If John Clark was born about 1760 and married Celia Harris born about 1780,
could that have been a second marriage?
Could there have been children from a first marriage?
When did John Clark (and Benjamin?) first show up in Kentucky
Hi: In response to your query about William Clark...My ancestor John K
Clark lived in Hopkins Co Ky, was b VA and his wife Lucy Williams
bNC...John bc1810...
John's son, Joshua Greene Clarks son, Ira Lemuel lived in East Southern
Indiana...Linton Indiana....Several of the family moved there from Hopkins
Co Ky to work in coal mines...My grandmother was an Underwood and lived in
Hopkins Co also, and her father died in Linton Ind....
Don't know if there is any connection....I can't find any information on
John K. Clark from Va....Family story is that John K. Clark was a cousin to
George Rogers Clark from Va...

Dave,
Could you give me the e-mail address of Kendon Clark. He and I may be from
the same line. My ancestors migrated from VT to OH to IN to AR. The ones
who left VT were John and Nancy (Humes) Clark.

Good morning Sally,
I don't know of any Clark's from my line who were in Kentucky.
One of my correspondents - Kendon L. Clark - has provided a long line of his
branch, that went to Texas by way of Ohio and Vermont. He has told me that
he
traced Clark's from my original immigrant ancestor (Lt. William) to 23 other
states, but I don't believe that Kentucky was one of them.
Sorry that I can't be of help.
Good luck with your search!

I, too, would be interested in obtaining Kendon Clark's email
address. My wife comes from the same line as David Clark who wrote
earlier today (VT>OH>AR).

When I post something to the group, that's ALL I know about the people.
As some of you know, I'm an invalid with only a few hours upright. I'd
rather spend them sharing with everyone than answering individual
emails.
Thanks for your understanding, ktc
