Hi Myrna,
Jonathan could be a brother. Michael Clark was living in Port Allegany Pa
in the 1860 census with David(29) and Rachel(22) Kibbie. Michael was at
the age of 87 then. He died 4 years later, Feb 8, 1864 in Burtville,
Potter Co. PA. I always figured that these Kibbies were related but
didn't have a clue who. I don't know for sure who Michael's parents are.
He was married to Matilda, his second wife. I don't know who the first
wife was. My relation to him is through his daughter Susannah Ellen Clark
who married John Hathaway about 1840, Urbana, Steuben Co., NY.
I know that Michael's son Daniel lived in Silver Springs where Daniel
died also in 1891. It is close to Burtville but on the McKean Co. side.
Maybe we link up. Here is hoping.
Sincerely,
Heather Dodge

The three counties mentioned are all in a 'row' in north central PA. From
east to west in this order : Tioga Co, Potter Co, McKean Co. Travel between
these counties was quite a common occurance, esp after 1800.
Burtville is just south-east of Port Allegany, McKean Co and about
3 - 5 miles from the Potter Co. border.
Port Allegany, McKean Co is about a 15 minute drive from Coudersport, Potter
Co. [Coudersport is the county seat of Potter Co]
Given that Jonathan was married in 1788, I would guess his birthdate to be
1767\68, making it possible that he is an older sibling of your Michael.
I have repeated my list below. Everyone on the list except Lydia Minton and
Sabra Reed were born CLARK's. If I have a married name for a daughter it is
listed. As of today I only have the chidren for Reuben and Sabra Reed, but
I only found these guys last week. :-)
1. Jonathan CLARK married in 1788 Lydia MINTON The children I know of are:
2. Reuben M CLARK [married Sabra REED 1790]
2. William CLARK b 1794
2. Jonathan CLARK b 1796
2. Lydia CLARK b 1798
2. James CLARK b 1802
Reuben and Sabra Reed CLARK'S children:

3. Sally CLARK 1818 married Kibbe
3. Nancy CLARK 1824 married Cole
3. Experience CLARK 1828 married Herman Bruce Ives

Looking for ancestors of Robert CLARK and his wife Elizabeth HARDY. They had
a son Albert born 21 May 1919 in Merrill, Aroostook?, Maine.
NB: these people are not near relatives and I have very little information
about them.

Brigit 25 Sept 1784
I have no location for these births.
Arnold Clarke was living at Richmond, RI at the time of enlistment.
The above information is taken from pension file material, File # W17625.
I believe that he was son of Thomas and Brigit (Barber) Clarke who was born
30 Oct 1748 at Richmond, Kings Co., RI. Can anyone substantiate this?
Also, what was Fillee's maiden name. Any further information on this family
and descendants would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance, Tom Clarke

I am looking for family of Michael Clark born about 1774 who died Feb 8, 1864 Burtville, Potter(or Burtville, McKean) PA. ... "I remember my father telling me that Michael was born in New England and
migrated to Tioga County in Pennsylvania. If so, he must have moved west to Burtville, Potter(McKean crossed out) County, at a later date.
Is anyone else related to these people? ?

Hi Everyone,
I went back over all of my research notebook and was amazed at what I had
remembered off hand and how much I had missed. Looks like my Blonde side
has been rearing it's ugly head. I have stacks of research papers and
maybe I need to go clue hunting at home. Here goes , I am looking for
family of Michael Clark born about 1774 who died Feb 8, 1864 Burtville,
Potter(or Burtville, McKean) PA. This is a letter sent to my father from

Wow I totally missed the Masche name it was hard to read and written at
the margin. Now do you think this means that possibly this Professional
Prussian Soldier by the name Masche switched sides? And why would
Washington give him land for being captured then switching?
Anyway, my gggranddad Michael Clark lived in the Lawrenceville area for a
while with his wife Matilda(? maybe Masche) and children Susan and Daniel.
Is anyone else related to these people? ?
Clueless about Tioga County,

Would apreciate any related info and would be happy to share.
Tess.
I am just getting started on my Clarke family genealogy, and truly do
not have much information to go on. Looking for any information that
might be useful.
Julius Clark was born in Nassau, Bahamas, probably around 1860-70.
Married Julia Henry, born in Ireland. They apparently had several
children, but I only have information on one, John Raymond Clark, who
was my grandfather (I think other children names may have been Frank,
Arthur, Robert). I believe JRC was born ~1890 or so in Waltham MA, and
died 13 Jan 1937 in San Diego. When JRC moved west, he added an "e" to
the last name. Married Elizabeth Johanna Ebert who was born in 1895 or
96. JRC and EJE had three children, Alison, John (Jack) and Francis
(who is my father).
If anyone has any information on this branch of the Clarks, I would
greatly appreciate it. I am cross-posting this to the Clarke listserver
as well. Thank you!! Janet Clarke
am still tracing George Washington Clark of Dade and Carter Co.
Missouri. I have found a Mahala Clark living with William Taylor in
Cedar Co. Missouri. She is mentioned in several letters written by
Washington. Also Matilda may have been in Cedar Co. at the same time.
They have some connection to Washington's family. Would William Taylor
been married to Mary Clark? There is mention of Mahala living with
Jane and Mahala living with Mary in 1951. Can anyone help.
I am looking for information on Sarah Clark, b. 1768 in ? Died November 10,
1861, probably in Weakley County, Tenn. She married James Newton january 23,
1796 in Orange County, N.C. This is the sum total of the information I have
on this person. Hope someone recognizes this name and has information to
share.

I'm looking for information about Jessie CLARK, caucasian, b. April 1863,
SC, and residing in 1900 in Bethesda Twp., York Co., SC. According to the
soundex, his wife was Winnie b. March 1861. Children were Ora (dau),
Sallie, Jessie (dau.), Theodore, William, Ellen, and Davis. All members of
family born SC. Records indicate that Sallie, Ellen, and Davis were in
Hempstead Co., AR, in late 1919. Ellen "Ellie" married Clyde HARLAN at
Christmas 1919, Hempstead Co. Davis Clark was security on the marriage
bond. Two weeks later, Ellie and Clyde were living in White Co., AR,
according to 1920 census. Sallie was lodging with "not reported" in
Hempstead Co., AR, 1920. Davis had disappeared. By 1929 Clyde had
remarried Maggie ORR, though I have found no divorce for him and Ellie.
What happened to Ellie? There's a good chance that Ellie and Clyde were
parents of my father, Odell Clyde HARLIN aka Clyde Odell CLARK. I have
been told that Dad was raised by his CLARK grandparents in Hempstead Co.,
AR, so Jessie and Winnie may have moved from SC to AR. Chances are
good--for reasons too lengthy to explain here--that Jessie CLARK and family
are related to Mary/Margaret CLARK, mother of James Tilman KIDD, who moved
from York Co., SC, to Hempstead Co., AR. ca 1860.
Thanks!
