Hello fellow listers,
This is more or less a repeat of my first message to this list where I
introduced my interest in a CLARK line in WV.
My wife descends from a Clark family that left Ireland in the 1790s and
settled in Hampshire County, VA (now WV).
The immigrants were Archibald CLARK (father), Margaret CLARK (his wife),
and four children - Samuel, Gabriel, Archibald, and Nancy. I do not know
if Margaret was the mother of any of the children.
The family lived in Hampshire County during the 1790s and early 1800s.
Abount 1805 various members of the family began to move to Ohio,
eventually all settling in or near Bethlehem TWP, Coshocton County. All
of them except Archibald, Jr. remained in Coshocton County, OH until
their death. Archibald CLARK, Jr. and his own family moved to Carroll
County, Indiana in 1830 and he died there.
All four of the children married and had children.
The bmd dates for these folks are:
1. Archibald (Sr.) born c1740-50, died 27 Dec 1822.
2. Samuel born c1773, died 23 Aug 1853, married Rachel CLARK c1793,
Hampshire County, VA (now WV). Rachel reportedly from a different Clark
line.
3. Gabriel born c1775, died 5 Sept 1851
4. Archibald (Jr.) born c 1775-80, died Nov/Dec 1836, married Susannah
GROVE 23 August 1804, Berkeley County, VA (now WV).
5. Nancy born c1775-85, died 6 May 1829, married John STEERMAN 15 Jan
1804, Hampshire County VA (now WV).
Allegedly there is a connection between Archibald Clark, Sr. and Adam
Clark the early Methodist and Bible commentator. Adam was born about
1760-62 in Ireland and died in the 1830s in England.
I would be delighted to exchange info with other persons researching this
family. I have considerable info on descendants, and a limited number of
clues surrounding the family's Irish origins.

Looking for information on James Clark and his son Daniel L. P. Clark.
James came to Virginia from Scotland. His wife's name was Mary (born
Scotland or Virginia), and Daniel was also born in Virginia in 1860-61.
I have located Mary and Daniel in Malden, MA in 1880.
Daniel married Angeline Rollins in 1891 and had 3 children.
If this sounds familiar to anyone, would appreciate any information.

I have now put up a new CLARK CONNECTION CENTRAL web page with the links for
the CLARK/CLARKE Lists including the General CLARK & CLARKE Lists and message
boards. If you do have or are going to have web pages for your CLARK/CLARKE
genealogy --- I will be happy to add the links for them. I also will continue
to recommend that subscribers to locality lists for the CLARK/CLARKE surnames
also subscribe to the CLARK & CLARKE general lists. I think the more we
spread the word the better for CLARK/CLARKE researchers to make connections.
