Attn: Joe Arlt
Thanks for your reply and it does seem to fit the family I'm researching. I
don't have the actual marriage certificate of Richard CLARKE & Nancy
DAVISON; the info is listed on the Greenup Co., KY web site. Some other
marriages:
CLARK, Jane to JONES, Mons 11-5-1816
CLARK, John to DUNCAN, Sally 11-27-1810
CLARK, Richard to JOHNSON, Sally 3-25-1816
CLARKE, Nancy to JAMES, Edward 8-12-1818
The marriage of Cornelious CLARK to Nancy HAVENS on 17 Dec 1821 isn't
listed.
The children I have of Richard CLARK Jr & Nancy DAVIDSON are:
Enoch b. abt 1820 m. Leander TOLER
Reuben b. abt 1825 m. Polly Ann COLLINS
Jesse b. abt 1828 m. Mary E. TOLER
Joseph b. abt 1830
John b. abt 1831
Vina b. abt 1838
Jeffers b. abt 1841
Enoch was killed in a mining accident and Reuben was hanged in Jun 1852 for
his part in the murder of a husband and wife in Greenup Co.
On the DAVIDSON side, I've read the CLARK family history which includes
"Hoppin" CLARK but haven't been able to connect with it.
The parents I have for Nancy DAVIDSON are:
Josiah DAVIDSON & Amy SHINN.
Children of Josiah & Amy:
John, Reuben S, Louisa, Betsy, Nancy, Joseph B, Cassandra, Margaret, Polly.
I have more descendent info if you are interested. Also, I would appreciate
any corrections, additions, etc that you may have.
Bill
You might want to get in touch with the Indiana County

I think you will be happy to see that the Silas Clark House

I am related to the Clarks in W. Pa. but can not find a

Might try this one too.

Hello list,
I am still looking for my Silas CLARK born in 1809 in western

Hi Bill...
This one looks promising... Did the parents of Richard & Nancy have to
give their permission for them to marry in 1817? That would indicate
they were both under age in 1817?

Subject: [CLARK-PA] Message from List Admin.
Dear List Members, since the list has been quiet, how about each of you
posting your queries on your CLARK lines. REMEMBER the more details you
give the more likely you are to make a connection!
DO NOT PUT ROLL CALL IN YOUR SUBJECT LINES!
NAME-DATE-PLACE ONLY IN SUBJECT LINES PLEASE!
CHANGE THE SUBJECT LINE TO REFLECT YOUR OWN MESSAGE.
Please follow these steps for a good query:
1. SURNAME in CAPITAL letters. Full name of ancestors and spouse. Dates
of births, marriages, deaths if known.
2. TIME FRAME: ie: 1775-1850
3.COUNTY or TOWN for this STATE
4. COLLATERAL SURNAMES connected to your CLARK lines, also in CAPITAL
letters.
5. SHARE a story or obits, wills or other data on your CLARK lines if
you have them!
REMINDER:
No Forwarding of mail from other lists is permitted without the
permission of the author and if it is off-topic for this list it must be
first cleared with me as the list administrator to decide if the message
may be posted to the list.
Keep quoting to a minimum. "Quoting" is repeating text of the message
you are replying to. Some quoting is necessary to remind other readers
what the thread is about but do try to use good judgment. Quoting the
previous writer's signature block or surname list is totally unnecessary.
Please refer to the list home page if you have a question regarding list
rules. There is also the CLARK CONNECTION CENTRAL for additional links.

CLARK, Absalom, born 1837 in PA.
CLARK, John, born 1841 in PA (brother)
Absalom married Alma Tibbits of Tittabawasse, Saginaw, MI. They were
married in Cass Co., MI 1857.
Absalom died 1896 in Colorado Springs, CO
Alma died 1916 probably in MI.
Brother John is with Absalom on 1860 census in IN. He was no longer a

He may have married and stayed in IN.
I need the parents in PA of these two. All suggestions appreciated.

Subject: Re: [Clarke-Clark] Re: [SFK-UK] Clearke, Thurston, 1590; Co. Suffolk, England; 1634 Massachusetts
This a very long shot - but what the heck - our searches are more fishing than catching. We have a Thurston CLARK born 1893 in Perry County, Ohio. His great-grandparents were Thomas CLARK, (January (28, 1800-August 9, 1854) and Hannah MOORE (November 4, 1802- died after 1887 in Champaign, Illinois)- the grandparents lived in southwest PA - probably first in Fayette County then in Greene County.
Family tradition has it that Thurston's grandfather John Milton CLARK was named after a Poet Laureate. Thomas may have been a member of Lodge no. 45, F. & A. M., 1785-1910 - Pittsburgh. In a list of members some are followed the letter A and some by the letter D - I can't find the meaning of these two letters. There are no other letters used in the list . Here is an example:
1830- Feb 27 James C. Downer
March 31 Charles W. Goff
May 26 William Moore
July 23 Thomas Clark D.
August 23 John Birmingham A.
I do not know of any earlier Thurston but there may been one - I do not know Thomas' siblings.
After Thomas CLARK died in 1854, his widow, Hannah, took her minor children to Champaign, Illinois, where she was very successful farmer. We have more of her story if any descendants are interested.

I have now put up a new CLARK CONNECTION CENTRAL web page with the links for
the CLARK/CLARKE Lists including the General CLARK & CLARKE Lists and message
