Virginia
Looking for ANY info, especially any info from an obituary for Mary Strainey/Strainey Clark(e) who died in the year 1932 in Scranton, Pa. She came there from Overtown, Lanarkshire, Scotland, I believe in the year 1912, although not sure. Prior to her arrival, her step son Michael Clark(e) arrived there, to work in the coal mines and I believe to save money to send for her, as well as her sons, Hugh and Andrew and daughter, Cecelia (my grandmother). I do not have any information on Mary, Hugh, Andrew or very much on Cecelia (other than dob's for Hugh, Andrew and Cecelia and a date of death for Cecelia). If anyone were able to find any information on Mary Clark, it would be sincerely appreciated. I don't know where to start, since I don't have a dob or date of death for her. She was Catholic if it helps and her sons Hugh and Andrew had their own filling station in that area somewhere. They area huge brick wall for me.

Hi everyone, since the CLARK-WV and CLARK-PA Lists each have more than 80
subscribers, how about posting your queries or sharing family data with others
here on the lists and maybe finding a cousin or two?
Please try using a good subject line such as a full name, time frame and area
that your CLARK ancestors were in. If you have surnames directly connected be
sure to mention that too and give us as much detail as you can without making
your message too long.
Planning a trip to the cemetery to get tombstone photos of your CLARK family
members? Be sure to take the time to document in writing and by writing on the
back of the photos. I have a free form available on the Lincoln-Lancaster
County Genealogical Society (Nebraska) web site that you are welcome to print out
and use. There are several other free forms to print out and use also.
