Does anyone know of a Robert E. Clarke (or Clark) born in New York about 1855? He was my great-grandfather; I've only just found the marriage license between him and my great-grandmother (Eugenia Ash, born about 1866 in District of Columbia, died Los Angeles 1950) and have no other information. They got married in Chicago in 1886. His middle name was almost certainly Elliott.
I hope someone can help!

I don't know where she lived as an adult. Her parent's were Andrew Clarke
and Catherine Fanning. She had lots of sibs. One was my Great Great Grandfather,
William Andrew Clarke JR. He was not called William he was Called Dr. Andrew
Clarke. He was a doctor. He moved with his Mother to Sugar Creek, Mo. after
her husband died.
The Children were:
Fannie, Frederick Fanning, Hezekiah, Clarissa, Catherine, Wheeler
Hutchinson, Eliza Ann, Chole, Addison, William Andrew, Maria Dingman
Hope this will help you.
Leah

I am searching for the parents and siblings of my great-grandmother,
Clarissa <Reed> CLARK born Nov. 29, 1831. According to the 1880 US
Census she was born in OHIO and her parents were both born in NY. She
married Edmond Cavalier MATHIS on Sep. 18, 1853 at LaSalle Co., IL. On
the 1880 US Census, Clarissa, Edmond & children were in the area of
Benton, Linn Co., Missouri. According to the 1885 Dakota Territory
Census, the family was in the area of Jamestown, North Dakota. Both
Clarissa and her husband Edmond are buried at the Lakeview Cemetery in
Cathay, Wells Co., ND. She was also known as "Clarey" and I've been
told her middle name may have been REED. Any help is very much appreciated!
Many Thanks,
