Here is the website that lists the GAR posts. It might help on locating
which ones were in the area. http://www.loc.gov/rr/main/gar/ Have you found
Zeno in the 1910 census? If you don't have access to the census, your local
library may have Ancestry Plus or HeritageQuest. MJ
Zeno CLARK- born 05-12-1838, Graby, MA - died 10-05-1914, Cortland, NY
I have family papers that say Zeno died 1914 but I have not found any other confirmation of this.
In a news paper clipping (no date) it says at the time of death his Civil War items were given to GAR.
My question is:
What GAR would they have given his things to? Cortland? How do I contact them?
The rest of the family is buried in Cortland Cemetery. I have not been able to find Zeno. Any Idea?
I appreciate your help.
