I received reject notices this morning for seven list members who are AOL
subscribers. Let's hope that someone straightens out the problems with
AOL - in the meantime, I am not unsubscribing the members unless they do so
themselves.

Thank you, Cindy, for allowing those of who are new to the list to say a
little about ourselves.
My name is Sally (Bolster) Holcombe and I live in the San Francisco Bay
Area, California. I'm still waiting to discover my Clark line on my
paternal grandmother's side. It begins with my g-g-grandmother, Maria C.
Clark, who was b. 10 May 1823, Auburn, Cayuga Co., NY. I don't know who her
parents were, but I strongly suspect that they came west from New England.
Right outside Auburn is a little town called Clarksville --- so I wonder if
this is where her family was actually living at the time. Anyway, I've left
inquiries on a couple of Clark forums with no results.
Maria C. Clark m. 26 Sep 1843 at Henrietta, Monroe Co., NY, Stephen Weeks
(b. 10 Jan 1820, Henrietta, Monroe Co., NY; d. 16 Dec 1888, Leslie, Ingham
Co., MI; the son of Benjamin Weeks and his wife, Maria Ann Whitney --- both
b. at Norwalk, Fairfield Co., CT). Immediately after their marriage, they
moved to wild, uncultivated Michigan lands with Stephen's brothers, George
Washington Weeks and William Henry Weeks. All three brothers settled along
the same road in Leslie Twp., Ingham Co., MI. Stephen and William had
adjoining quarter-sections, George had a quarter-section across the road
from the other two. The brothers built three houses that looked very
similar to one another. The picture below is of William Henry Weeks' home,
the only one of the three still standing. It is designated a historical
building in Leslie Twp.
Maria C. Clark Weeks gave birth to nine children, and died at home after
giving birth to her last child, 1 Jul 1862. She is buried in Woodlawn
Cemetery, Town of Leslie, Ingham Co., MI.
I would very much like to find out who her parents and siblings were.
Other surnames I'm researching in New England are: ALVORD, BETTS, BLISS,
BOLSTER, BULLARD, BUELL, BUTTOLPH, CAREY, CHILD, CONVERSE, ELITHORPE,
ESTABROOK, GRANT, GRIFFIN, HATHAWAY, HOLCOMB/HOLCOMBE, LYON, RAYMOND, SMITH,
TUCKER, WAITE, WEEKS, WHITNEY.
Best Regards,
Sally J. (Bolster) Holcombe

Please give some details - not just a list of names. Ready, Set, Go!
