Hi Cindi and Shelly,
Some other NC Clark researchers have been putting together a rather large
Clark file for quite some time.
I just returned from a trip and am exhausted tonight but I can help you with
this family. I'd love to also see the picture of Lafayette Clark and print
it out so if you would scan it and send it to me I'd be so grateful.
You can be in touch with me at _brashergen(a)aol.com_

Is this the Samuel D. Clark who is the son of William S. Clark married to Elizabeth Jane Hall? My husband would be 1st cousin 4X's removed of both Samuel Clark and Temperance Green. I do not have information on Samuel and Temperance's children.
I have some discrepancies in the research that I obtained from another source that I am trying to work out. any additional information would be appreciated. You can contact me off list at cl2clark(a)bellsouth.net.
Thanks,
Cindi

Shelley,
If you can scan & e-mail, I'd love to see a copy of it. My Clarks
came from NC and I have a Newton Lafayette Clark with a sister Laura--
but they lived in Arkansas & he died in Texas in 1937. I'd be
interested to see if there's any family resemblance.

I've "rescued" an old photograph of a man identified as Fate CLARK which was
taken at the J. M. McCanless Studio in Asheville, North Carolina. The
photograph appears to have been taken in the early 1900's with the man in
the photograph appearing to be in his 50's or 60's at the time it was taken.
In addition to his name, someone has also written, "Laura CLARK'S brother"
and "she married D. V. THRASH" on the back of the photograph.
Thanks to the help of CLARK Family Researchers I believe that this is a
photograph of Lafayette CLARK who was the son of Samuel CLARK & Temperance
GREEN and the brother of Laura CLARK who married David V. THRASH. I am told
that this CLARK Family was from Lower Hominy, NC and that Laura CLARK and
David V. THRASH were living in Washington State by 1920.
I am hoping to locate someone from this CLARK Family so that this wonderful
old photograph can be returned to its rightful place with family. If you
are a member of this family, or you know someone who might be, please
contact me.
Thanks,
Shelley
