Hi Groups,
More Clark results came back from FTDNA today. Our second Clark testee had
a perfect match with the first Clark testee in our line on the 12 marker
test. On the 25 markers, there was one difference which was on allele 458.
One had 16; the other had a value of 17.
A 24/25 result on the test (same surname) is considered a match with a
mutation.
The two Clarks above are from my father's generation. Their earliest known
ancestor is Eli Clark who was born cir 1775 in either GA or NC. ELi was in
Burke Co. GA by 1807.
The Clark with the value of 16 on marker 458 is the descendant of Eli's
oldest son, Eli Robert. The Clark with the value of 17 is descended from
Eli's younger son, Christopher. So the men's MCR ancestor is their great,
great grandfather, Eli, four generations back if I'm counting right.
I'm anxious for other Clarks to be tested so we can see which value for #458
is the mutation.
At this time, no other Clarks in the Clark DNA study have had the 25 marker
test, but one who matches several people 11/12 is going to upgrade to it.
Hopefully, we will soon find matches beyond our paper trail.
Just wanted to share my excitement and encourage others to participate.
Regards,
Mitzi Clark Bateman
Hi, My Clarks were in Buncomb Co from 1840 thru 1910, then disappear.
They were Hugh and Annie Clark>Mitchel and Winnie Elizabeth? Clark to Thomas
A. and Rebecca Clark.
Rebecca was on the 1910 census alone. Can't find any death places or burial
places for any of them. They have to be somewhere.

Hi;
My Clarks from NC. were Abraham Clark married to Elizabeth?? I have not been able to find her maiden name and it seems that no one else has either. Abraham was b-abt.1745. I have been told that his father was Benjamin b-1730 from Va. I have not found proof of this tho. Everyone on the lists have them listed that way. I am descended from their son Jacob Scott Clark b-abt 1771 who married Lucy Lacefield and the their son Jacob and Sarah Webb Clark.
I have not been able to prove the Parents of Abraham, what Elizabeth's maiden name was, or Sarah's Parents and siblings.
Any help with any of this would be very much appreciated.
Thanks

Counties in Georgia for GAGenWeb.
My Clark line shows up in Edgecombe County, North
Carolina in 1749-1751 where Henry Clark received a
land grant. My line seems to have stayed in Edgecombe
until 1803 when Henry's son Richard of Hancock County,
GA sold his land located in Edgecombe.
I do not know anything else about Henry. Am looking
to see where he came to Edgecombe from.
