I've "rescued" an old photograph identified as Pollie CLARK of Palmyra,
Missouri. The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1890's or early
1900's with Pollie appearing to be in her teens or 20's at the time it was
taken. In addition to her name and hometown, someone has also written
"Married Tall STILLION" on the back of the photograph. Based on limited
research I was able to gather the following:
Polly CLARK b. Oct 1879 in Marion Co. MO to parents Samuel Vanschoaicke
CLARK (b. 5 Feb 1827 in Mason Co. KY) and Amanda A. ANDERSON (b. 1850 in
KY). Polly had one sibling, a brother James G. CLARK b. 1876 in Marion Co.
MO.
Census records provide the following:
1880 census of Liberty, MO:
Samuel CLARK, age 53, born KY, a Farmer, parents born KY
Amanda CLARK, wife, age 30, born MO, Keeping House, parents born KY
James G. CLARK, son, age 4, born MO, at Home
Polly CLARK, dau, age 8 months, born MO, at Home
1900 census of Louisana, MO:
T. W. STILLION Jr., age 22, born Aug 1877, married 1 year, born MO, parents
born VA/MO, a Contractor
Mandi STILLION, age 20, born Sept 1879, married 1 year, no children, born
MO, parents born MO
I am hoping to locate someone from Polly's family so that this wonderful
treasure can be returned to its rightful place with family. If you are a
member of this family, or you know someone who might be, please contact me.
Thanks,
Shelley
