Dear List Members, since the list has been quiet, how
about each of you
posting your queries on your CLARK lines. REMEMBER the
more details you
give the more likely you are to make a connection!
DO NOT PUT ROLL CALL IN YOUR SUBJECT LINES!

CHANGE THE SUBJECT LINE TO REFLECT YOUR OWN MESSAGE.
Please follow these steps for a good query:
1. SURNAME in CAPITAL letters. Full name of ancestors

of births, marriages, deaths if known.
2. TIME FRAME: ie: 1775-1850
3.COUNTY or TOWN and STATE

also in CAPITAL
letters.
5. SHARE a story or obits, wills or other data on your

Hi Jean,
Lincoln County is north of St. Louis, Ripley County is due south of Lincoln
about 150 miles. As I said in the subject line, Malissa died in 1900 in Ripley
County. We have been to the Bardley Cemetery and found her grave but we have
no information on when they arrived in Doniphan from their original home in
Tennessee.
Thanks for your interest....

Hi List,
My Great Grandmother, Malissa Clark, wife of John P. Clark, is buried in
Bardley Cemetery, Doniphan, Ripley County, MO. They lived in Doniphan for several
years. My Grandfather and namesake, Noel Douglas Clark, was born in Doniphan.
Am I lucky enough to find another lister with a connection to this family?
I THINK that he was born in Ky, although it has been written somewhere
as Troy, Lincoln Co, Mo
He was married to Elizabeth Adams abt 1790 and had at least two children
David and Catherine, b May 6, 1794. Catherine was married to Joseph
Hill McCoy about 1815. By 1826 the McCoys were in Gonzales Co, Tx.
(Still under Mexican rule at that time.) David Clark was killed on Jan
7, 1837 in Erath's Fight (Indians) Milam Co,Tx, in a battle in which
his father was an active participant.
Need some clues to get started on researching Major Christopher Charles
Clark.
The McCoy family had left Va or were in Lincoln Co, Ky when they signed
up to go with Daniel Boone to Lincoln Co, Mo.abt 1796. I believe the
Clarks may have migrated this way also. Daniel Boone's son in law was a
Callaway. Anyone that can give me an idea would be so appreciated.

If you would like to post your queries, success
stories or brick walls, please do so. A good formula
for your subject line is a NAME, PLACE/TOWN/COUNTY in
MISSOURI and a time frame if possible.
Please also limit your signature lines to no more than
4 lines and please do not include a list of surnames
in it as this causes problems with the Rootsweb
search engine.
You are welcome to mention Collateral surnames that
directly link to your MISSOURI CLARK'S/CLARKE'S, etc.
as long as it is part of your actual query. I am happy
that you have chosen to become a part of this list and
look forward to healthy participation from all when
you feel ready.
Lurkers are also welcome here! <grin> Of course we
hope that you will post something eventually. It is a
great idea to try and post something at least once
a month. Share obits, will extracts, related web
sites, ancestral stories on your CLARK/CLARKE lines,
etc.
Again welcome and have fun finding new cousins!
