I'm envious of all the information others have to post on their Clark
ancestry. I know very little about my Clark line while they lived in
Maine. Here's what I have:
Isaiah Clark, b. abt 1806 in Penobscot Co., ME; d. 5 May 1880 in
Stewart, Athens Co., OH; m. Nancy Ann Bailey, 21 July 1825, Warren,
Washington Co., OH. Isaiah Clark and Nancy Ann Bailey are my 2nd great
grandparents.
I believe Isaiah was the s/o Jeptha Clark who lived in ME until the
family took up land in Washington Co., OH. At that time, Jeptha may
have been part of the group who left Bangor, ME and moved to OH about
1817 or he may have died before that. That group included Isaiah Clark
and two of his sisters, Elizabeth Clark who married Martin Bailey and
Anna Clark who married George Washington Adams, both marriages took
place in OH. They also may have been accompanied by another brother,
Jeptha Clark Jr, who married Polly Null in Gallia Co., OH. There
probably are other children of Jeptha that I have not been able to identify.
I'd appreciate any information on Jeptha Clark and his family,
especially name of spouse, date of birth, date of death, and anything
that would give proof of the connection between Jeptha and Isaiah. I
will be glad to exchange information although I have little to share
before the family reached OH, but a great deal after that.
