If you wish to collaborate, I have Thorndike family genealogy in the early
1700s in Beverly, MA; some went to NS/NB and others to Belmont, ME and of
course Thorndike, ME and Lincolnville Center, ME. South Thomaston is not
that far
from Lincolnville Center but quite a distance from Medfield which is a
beautiful little village/town/city, eh? I have a John Clarke who came to
Saugus, MA
and settled in Wenham, MA and may have gone to Exeter, NH. Don Beattie in
Winthrop, ME
Hello Don, good to hear from you. I have found that many mid-coast Mainers
came from the Medfield MA area. I wonder if someone has data on who the
first of those to "remove to Maine" might be............he certainly started a
new migration.
I am switching computers here, but would love to collaborate, once I get
that going strong. Also your mention of Exeter was of interest as one branch of
my Ames kind went there.

My CLARK line came to Maine from Medfield MA, via

Oliver and Betsy are buried at Thorndike cemetery, South Thomaston
children:
Oliver A CLARK b: 8 Dec 1827
Elizabeth CLARK b: 25 Jun 1830
Mary A CLARK b: 16 May 1833
William Ellis CLARK b: 5 Jun 1838 (my great grandfather)
The family lived on the old CLARK farm in Spruce Head, and possibly also in
the St George area. I do not have death dates on these children. I would
like to find more about them and their descendant families.
I do have the Tilton's "History of Medfield, 1650 - 1886" ( MA) and also
Eaton's "History of Rockland, Thomaston, and South Thomaston, ME, in 2 vols. if
anyone needs look-up therein, just ask.
Further data available on William Ellis CLARK and family, and my Medfield
line, if you are interested.

I
I have a lot of Aroostook, Me and NB Clarks; we may wish to collaborate as
you wish to see if we can sort out any related to your Penobscot CO, ME to OH
Clarks. Don Beattie in Winthrop, ME.
I am researching Jeptha Clark and his descendants who lived in or near
Penobscot Co., Me before 1800. I have very little information on
Jeptha. I know that he was in Washington Co., OH by 1809 when his
daughter, Elizabeth Clark, married Martin Bailey there. I do not have
the name of his spouse. Children other than Elizabeth Clark, b. abt
1789, that I have identified are Isaiah Clark, born about 1806 in
Penobscot Co., and Anna Clark, born before 1810, who married George
Washington Adams in Washington Co., OH in 1826.
I descend from Jeptha's son, Isaiah Clark, born 1806 in Penobscot
Co., who married Nancy Bailey in Washington Co., OH in 1825. I'm
searching for any information on Jeptha Clark's family including the
name of his spouse, their birth and death dates, names of parents,
siblings, etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have a great
deal of data on Isaiah and Nancy and their descendants and would be glad
to exchange with anyone researching this line.
