Loralee,
William Amos Clark is my 3rd great grandfather. He was married to Cynthia
Christine Bradley. They had 8 children. His parents were possibly Meritt
and Nancy (Jones) Clark.
I know he was born in KY, but not sure where.
Family story is that during the Civil War, soldiers came and wanted some of
his horses. The soldiers took one or some and William went after them to
get the horse(s) back. He never returned home. He was probably killed
somewhere in southern MO or northern AR. His wife went to court in Phelps Co
and had him declared dead. There are court records in Phelps Co that I
have seen but I don't recall the dates of them just now. He died sometime
after 1864.
If you need information on his children, let me know and I can send it to
you.

Hello,
Looking for info about William A. Clark who lived in Shannon Co in 1850,
and Phelps Co as early as 1855. Already have Census info from 1850 and 1860,
as well as names of wife and several children. Trying to find out where
and when he was born (have general idea), and especially when, where, and how
he died...
Thank you!
Loralee

Ruth - this is great information for me because I didn't have some of it. Christopher Clark (b. 1681) is my 5th GGF and I come through the Micajah Jr. line. I had J. Robert as Robert L, per McNaught research papers. Do you have further info on spouses and other children?
BTW, there is no Frankfort county in KY. Frankfort, the capital, is in Franklin county.
Thanks for the information and I look forward to hearing from you. I have a genealogy on ancestry.com called Clarks of Christian County KY that you would be welcome to look at.

Hello Loralee: I am a descendant of Christopher Clark- born 1681 in Nansemond Co. Va.
His son, Micajah Clark Jr. born 1718 Albemarle County, Va.
His son, J. Robert Clark born 1738 Albemarle County, Va.
His son, William P. Clark born 1778 Clark County, Ky.
His son, William P. Clark born 1808 Clark County, Ky.
His son, William Pennington Clark born 1845 Frankfort County, Ky. (my grandfather). His son, Percy Martin Clark born 1892 Rolette County, N Dakota.
Apparently the Robert Clark family left Albemarle county and moved to Bedford County, Va., and then moved to Clark County. Ky. At some time later some of the Robert Clark family then moved to Campbell County, Ky. In some records it gives that William Anthony Clark was born in Campbell County, but I don’t know how he fits in. Anyway, maybe this will give you some help, I hope.

Hello,
Searching for birth and parent info for William. Some have surmised that he was born in Union County. Anyone know anything about Henry W. Clark, James S. Clark, Micaiah Clark Jr., or Christopher Clark? (All of these are heads of Clark families in Union County in 1830)
Thank you,
Loralee
