I am looking for descendants of Thomas Clark who married Sally Stodgil in Wayne County, KY, in 1816. I believe somebody told me this Thomas Clark migrated to Arkansas. If this is your ancestor, I need to touch bases with you!
Also, I am looking for any descendants of Thomas Clark who appears on the 1799 tax list for Pulaski County, KY.

Anyone here have anything on the Clark family of Campbell County
Kentucky?
Mary L. Robinson (My Great-Aunt) was born about 1892 and in 1909 married
Samuel J. Clark, born ca 1889. They had at least two children, John S.
Clark born 1910 (Apparently in Cincinnati, Ohio) and Herbert Thornton
Clark born October 21, 1911 in Newport, Campbell County, KY. Family
legend is that Mary died at a very young age and shortly after the birth
of a child. There is some indication of third child named Earl but I
have no proof or date of birth. Earl could be the son of Samuel and a
second wife.
I can find nothing on Mary L. Robinson Clark after the birth of her son
in 1911. Samuel J. Clark disappears from Bellevue Kentucky city
directories after 1915 although he was listed as a survivor when his
mother died in 1951. Mary and Samuel Clark's son, John Clark (born
1910) is found living with Grandmother Caroline Clark in Bellevue,
Campbell County, KY in 1930. I have nothing on what happened to Herbert
Thornton Clark and Earl Clark.
I have some limited information on Samuel Clark's ancestry if anyone is
interested. I am mainly looking for what happened to Samuel Clark, Mary
Robinson Clark and the children. I would very much enjoy hearing from a
Clark cousin with information on this family.

Ellen Clark Fox was the daughter of Matthew Newton Clark. She was born in KY in 1799. One source lists her with a twin sister, Mary. She married George F. Fox in 1831. They had a son Joseph Maurice Fox in 1833. (My great grandfather). George died before 1847 and Ellen marrried Edmund Vaughan. I am looking for the name of Matthew Newton Clark's mother.
My grandfather was robert L Clark born in Brandenburg Ky around 1918. i know a few of his brother's and sister's name but i am stumped i cant find any information on him at all not even listed in the social security death index. Some of his siblings were edwin, earl and Clarie. Any help or ideas would be great. He married my gandmother Virginia Napper in 1948

Reubin CLARK, b March 23, 1802 in North Carolina
married Delila LILE, b March 05, 1805. I am
descended from their daughter Lydia Catherine
Clark, b Abt. 1844.
I have found precious little information about
Delila. Lots of information about her immediate
family, but basic information about Delila
continues to escape me. In fact, I have seen
several websites and messages which do not even
include her! Has anyone run across death
information for her?

I'm the GGGGGGrandson of Francis Clark (m. Dorcas <lastname?>; d. 24
October 1799), the first Methodist minister in the state of Kentucky.
The lore in our family -- and mentioned specifically in the genealogy
compiled by my great grand aunt, Lucy Lee Mahan Spilman of Harrodsburg,
Ky. (b. 25 March 1878; d. 2 March 1962) -- is that there is a relation
between "our" Clarks (the "Francis") line, and that of the famous
William and George Rogers Clarks. But her genealogy does not show this
connection, at least as far as I can tell at this point.
Does anyone on this list know of a connection between these early
Kentucky Clark families. Since both came from (or through) Virginia, I
can imagine that any connection might be there or even back in England.
But I'd love to know if such a connection is either well-known ... or
there are others with a similar (but unconfirmed) family lore.
Many thanks,
-- Mike Ross (San Jose, Calif.)
Hi! I am new to this list. Here is the main Clark line I am researching: Reuben CLARK, b. 1774 (not sure where) m. Elizabeth (Betsy) LACEFIELD Nov. 27, 1794 in Shelby County, KY. Their son Reuben, b. March 23, 1802 in Kentucky (don't know which county) m. Delila LILE, January 25, 1825 in Green County, KY. Their son Calvin W. CLARK, b. February 24, 1828 in Green County, KY m. Parthena E. MITCHELL May 10, 1855 in Barren County, KY and their son Samson Jones CLARK, b. August 15, 1857 in Barren County, KY m. Cora Maud Campbell, October 19, 1898 in Gentry County, Missouri and my father Ralph Stetson CLARK, b. April 18, 1904 in Jameson, Daviess County, Missouri m. Verda Ann MEAD, October 5, 1941 in Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri.
Samson Jones CLARK came to Jameson, Daviess County, MO around 1883 with Calvin coming sometime after that. Samson was a carpenter and built the First Baptist Church in Jameson in 1893. He had a brother, Granville R. CLARK who also came to Missouri from Kentucky and married Marie S. CASHMAN, October 11, 1897 in Jameson. They are all buried in the Grand River Cemetery in Jameson. Granville and Marie had three children: Juanita b. August 1898, Hubert C. b. October, 1899 d. June 22, 1902 and Verna A. b. about 1904. Would love to find out what happened to his daughters.
Hoping to connect with someone. Am willing to share any information I have.
Thank You
Linda Clark Foster
