Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Greetings Folk's -
I am searching for my 2nd gr. gr'dpa Levi W. Clark b. 14 July 1835 in
Ohio [parent's unk.] he d. 10 Feb. 1899 [most likely in Harper Co.,
Kansas near Anthony] he married 24 Aug. 1854 Delaware Co., Indiana to
Elizabeth Sarah Stonebraker 1838-1931
We got all of Elizabeth's lines back several generations, but Levi has
been a block wall for quite sometime for us :(
more later ...

Greetings Folk's -
In seeing that there is a genuine need for regional surname List(s) for
the more popular surname(s) like ie. Clark/Clarke ... This appears to be
a growing area of interest, and not a tool to distract from the two main
Clark or Clarke List(s) ... but to be a more focused group on a given
area. With that said, I have asked RootsWeb to create the Clark-IN,
Clark-KS and Clark-OH List(s) for our fellow researcher's, as a few
other's have done, for several U.S. states and other area's of interest
associated with the Clark/Clarke surname ...
Kathie Harrison, has been so kind as to put a web page together, listing
the other Clark/Clarke List(s) that are currently available at this link
"CLARK CONNECTION CENTRAL" ...
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~irishrose/ccc/index.htm
A little bit about myself, for those who might like to know ... I live
in the concrete jungle of Southern California. I have been doing family
research off and on, for 30 plus years, and only on the internet since
Dec. 1999 ... I have presently in my care 14 surname mailing List(s)
[including the 3 Clark List(s) mentioned above, followed by Hedgpeth,
Low, Mearns, Palmer, Pickerill, Pickrell, Sealey, Steinbrecher,
Stonebraker, Whitcomb and Whitcome] and I also watch over 50 plus
Message Board(s) in my care too. Many of them are variants of several
surnames I have been interested in ... I am employed by a large Civil
Engineering Company, as a CAD Operator, where my duties fall into the
Water/WasteWater field ie. pipelines, reservoirs, wells and treatment
facilities ... I draw pretty pictures on the computer, known as
construction plans :) I am a single parent with two grown children, who
still pull poor ol' dad in all directions, along with three nephews all
in little league and an adorable niece, the apple of my eye :) ... and
you ask what I do in my spare time ... currently learning how to build a
web site for my H*D*P*TH's ie. my own surname with more that 200
spelling variant's here in the US and the UK :)
Ok now for this List ... I am pretty much an easy going List Admin. no
real hard set rules, but we do need a few guide lines to keep us focused :)
1. No virus warning and or hoax messages should ever be posted to the
List ... if you happen to put the List address in your email address
book ... please create a separate listing for mailing List(s) separated
from your general list of email buddies ... so that you don't
accidentally forward those type of messages to the List ...
2. No bad talk about any genealogy services / databases on the internet
... we would much rather hear about the better one's :)
3. No pointed remarks about the Mormon's the LDS church, their faith,
their services or their libraries will ever be put up with on this List
[period] ... and for the record I am not affiliated with that religion
in any way, but do use their libraries and web site for hints and leads :)
4. We can agree to disagree ... but please don't spoil everyone's
enjoyment of the List(s) by bickering with one another ... state your
claim and or findings and leave it at that ... Genealogy is NOT an exact
science. Always verify.
5. cross posting is acceptable to List(s) where the info does cover more
than one area of interest, providing it is your own info, or you have
permission from the original owner of the info ... if not, you can post
a link to share with the List, as to where the info is located ie.
RootsWeb archive or web site ... etc.
6. any question and or problems dealing with this List and or a fellow
subscriber, could/should be directed to me privately off the List ...
but general genealogy questions should be sent to the List, as I don't
claim to be an expert, and someone else might have a better answer ...
also there might be someone else on the List lurking, and to shy to ask
the same question :)
7. Also a note to the wise, the List is set for replies to come back to
the List, unless (a) you change the reply " who To: " or (b) the
original poster of the message you are replying to, has their personal
settings in their own email program set for replies to come back to them
... then this would over ride the List settings :/ Main reason I have
selected this setting, we all seen the question/statement of facts ...
why not the answer/correction too ... how many times has info not gone
to the people who might have been looking/searching for the same tid bit
:/ So if it's something you don't really want the whole List to read,
keep that in mind :)
My motto is:
Compare, Learn and Share . . . and above all enjoy !
We are all like building blocks, we are here to help one another, where
we can ... like a smile, genealogical kindness causes a chain reaction
... give it a try :)
