Mary Ann Clark Warner was b. abt. 1830 in OH. She married Calvin Warner
in Woodford Co, IL. Children were William H. b. abt. 1849; George W. b.
7-29-1850; Matilda b. abt. 1852; Sarah M. b. abt. 1853; & Charles H.
Warner b. 12-25-1854.
According to a bio written abt. Charles H. Warner, Mary Ann's father was
John Clark, an early settler of Wayne Co, OH. I've never been able to
find any info on this. The bio states that Mary Ann d. in 1882 at her
home in Woodford Co. but haven't found any info on her death or burial.
She & Calvin are not in any Woodford Co. cem. online.
Looking for parents & siblings of Mary Ann; her birth & death dates;
where she's buried; & info on William, Matilda, & Sarah.
Thanks,
Kris
Kris,
I don't know if this will help or not. But.. I was looking at the map of
Woodford tonight just to get an idea of where it was and noticed that it
edges on to so many counties and in the south there are a lot of turns and
twists. I had a similar problem in Missouri. Couldn't find where some folks
were buried. Finally discovered that although they died in one county they
were actually buried in another. The distance between the two places was not
that great but the cemetery was actually located across the county line.
Do you suppose that is why you can't find them in Woodford co. Just an idea
- take care - Emma
By the way - if you need a census record let me know and I will give it a
try.
Take care - Emma
Hello All,
I'll just jump in and post to see if any of you are researching this
line. I haven't been able to go any further back than Albert and Alice
in OH, but the Charles Keith Clark family moved to Chicago, IL There
may have been others that made the move, but I don't know.

My goodness,
What a nice surprise I had this afternoon when I got home from work. I
posted the message about the new Clark(e) lists late last night and tonight I
find that we already have 4 subscribers to the regular mail list and 6 to
the digest version.
Welcome to the new Clark-IL mail list for folks searching the Clark - Clarke
- surname and other various spellings in the State of Illinois. Not only are
the Clark and Clarke surnames very prevelent in this State just because those
surnames are prevelent in the general population, but.... the Clark surname
is special to the history of the State of Illinois because of Meriwether
Lewis and William Clark and his brother George Rogers Clark. As a result,
there are lots of "locations" in Illinois that carry the Clark name as well.
Perhaps you might like to know just a bit about me. My name is Emma Cronin
and I have been a list admin for other lists for..... well.... I am not sure
how long but for a while now. Until yesterday I was the admin for 13 lists
and their corresponding message boards.
I am in Texas - a far distance from Illinois. My Clark folks were in New
York. In 1813 they moved west - paused a couple of years in Ohio - and then
moved on to Illinois where they stayed until 1850. At that time most of them
moved to Oregon but my great great grandfather Samuel Clark chose to move to
Texas instead. He died there around 1880. From there the family moved
further west to New Mexico and Arizona and that is where most of them are
now.
I will send more information on my actual family later. In the meantime,
getting a new list started is a bit of a challenge sometime. Perhaps the
best way is for everyone to share their line or interest. Hopefully we will
be able to help each other out in some way.
Please share the information about the new Clark state lists with others that
you know are also working in these areas. There are now Clark lists for New
York (Clark-NY); Illinois (Clark-IL); Texas (Clark-Tx); West Virginia
(Clark-WV); Pennsylvania (Clark-PA); and Nebraska (Clark-NE).
Again, WELCOME and I look forward to working on our Clark(e) mysteries with
all of you.
Take care - Emma
