Hi Mitzi, Yes, we did do our test thru the Family Tree VA site. So far have
not found a match. We are posted on that site under 10064.
Our Alleles: 13 24 14 11 11 15 13 12 11 13 13 29.
I am in the hopes that more will also do the DNA testing and allow their
results to be posted. 3 seperate descendents of this family that I have found,
have also stated that it was passed down they were cousin's of William and
George Rogers Clark. The posting for William does not show this according to the
DNA. So we are still searching. We are planning on doing the additional 13
marker test to complete the 25 marker's. Sherry

Hi Sherry,
The Clark DNA site is different from our Laurens/Colquitt/Montgomery County
Clark site.
It's great that more and more people are doing the DNA testing. With a
common surname, it helps to not only know matches, but also non- matches.
: )
However, if your husband didn't go with the Southern Clark DNA group, he
paid too much money. There's a group rate. The results are posted at:
http://freepages.family.rootsweb.com/~hjohnson/clark.html
Email your results to Harold, and he'll post them.
The Clark DNA information can also be accessed from:
http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~lksstarr/
On the other hand, the posting board for our Clark lines in the counties
listed above (or anyone else who thinks he might connect) is at:
http://www.currieart.com/clark/clarkboard/clarkboard.html
Let us know the test results. Who are your husband's Clark ancestors in GA?
Regards,
Mitzi
Hi Mitzi, Where is the DNA Study posted on the Clark's you listed. My
husband just had his done and I would like to compare them; and if possible post his
to the list. Sherry
James Clark b. 1809 SC Parents unkn, siblings unkn, place of birth in SC
unkn.
married Elva, Elvira, etc. b. 1811 SC Parents unkn, siblings unkn, place of
b. in SC unkn.
James appeared on the 1830 Marion Co. GA census. Probably receiving his land
through the 1827 Land Lottery. He remained their the rest of his life. He
was a farmer.
On the 1830 census two children are in the household. They do not appear
again on any census after that. 1840 is incomplete.
Elva died c. 1865-7.
James Clark remarried to Mahala Richardson b. 1833 GA. She was the dau. of
John and Eliz. Catherine Richardson who had moved to Marion Co. GA before
1830. Both parents were b. in SC.
Children of James and Mahala Clark
James d. at 21 of fever
Susan married late no children
Ely married to Ella Mae Griner of Mitchell Co. GA.
James and Mahala moved to Mitchell Co. GA after the death of Mahala's mother
sometime after 1890.
Living in the household in Marion Co. GA were 3 children who may be kin to
James or his first wife:
William Kidd b. 1833 SC
Rebecca Jane Kidd b. 1845 SC
John Morrow b. 1830 SC.
William Kidd was the oldest child of the Kidd family and Rebecca Jane Kidd
was his youngest sister. I have some material on William Kidd after marriage.
James Clark may have come to GA as a child. No one knows.
Anyone out there that can help?
Nora

Ask thy father and he will show thee.
Thy elders and they will tell you."

Hi there everyone. This is a second request as I've moved and changed my e-mail address and also my computer crashed so everything I had from gracious people who sent info, sites, etc., etc. is gone. I would love to get this information again when you have the time.
Thank all of you so much.
