John Clarke, a builder, came free to the Colony of NSW in 1825. He is
recorded in the 1828 Census living with his wife Charlotte in George Street.
They were married in NSW. Charlotte was a widow with a daughter
Charlotte(Junior).
Other members of his family arrived after 1828 including his brother
(?)William. William married Charlotte Junior and they had 11(+?) children
including my wife's grandfather Ernest Henry Clarke. He was the mayor of
Hunters Hill. His father William was one of the original councillors.
If anyone recognises this family I would be please to talk to them either on
