I have a Martha Clark in my McCulloch line. She married my GG
granduncle Samuel David McCulloch on July 8, 1835, in Lawrence County.
She was born in 1817, in South Carolina, and died after 1880 in Lawrence
County. They had 10 children.
I don't know who her parents were. I'd love to get any information you
have on her.

Looking for these 3 Clark families that were in Lawrence Co, Ala in the
1820-30-40's [not all were there inh each year]

I wish I could help each of you on your CLARK family. But as I said I know nothing before 1830 in Lawrence Co, Alabama and then only these 3 names on the census record. My Joseph Clark was there and I have nothing on him before 1830 except his name and birthday. He lived there until about 1859 and left then for Mississippi-------james

I am researching two Clark lines, which may connect way back down the line.
At this time I believe that I descend from Capt. Christopher Clark and his
wife Penelope Johnson of colonial Virginia. Their grandson, another
Christopher Clark, married Millie Terrell and migrated to Elbert County,
Georgia. I descend through Agatha Clark, who married George Wyche. Agatha
and George's daughter, Frances Tilley Wyche, is my 3g grandmother, who
married Isaac Overton Edwards. Their son, James Samuel Edwards, is my 2g
grandfather, who married Sarah Ann Kelly. Their son, Joshua Clark Edwards
is my great-grandfather, who married Lougenia (sp?) Pope. Their daughter,
Minnie Lee Edwards, married my grandfather, Cletie Coran Clark. The
Edwardses passed through Georgia and settled in Dale County, Alabama.
Another Clark line I am interested in is a William and Sarah Clark family,
who were in Sumter County, Georgia, about 1850 but moved about that time to
Dale County, Alabama. They had ten children, of whom Coleman Clark (the
elder) is my 2g grandfather, who was married to Ann Martin.
Do any of these people ring a bell with you?
(Mrs.) Jerry Hicks Bailey
e-mail: dbailey3754(a)sc.rr.com
I lost the first email I got on this subject.
My father was Robert L. Clark from Wellington, AL (near
Jacksonville-Anniston).
My grandfather was: Rev. Eddie Jefferson Clark-b. 20 Nov 1880 - d. 4 July
1968
Great-grandfather was: John Silas Clark-b. 16 Aug 1854 - d.-6 May 1937
(Silas John -on some lists)
GG-grandfather was: Enos Marion Clark -b. 7 Oct 1831 - d. 24 Oct 1896
GGG-grandfather was: Samuel F. Clark - b. abt 1780 (in NC/VA possibly) d.
abt 1838
I don't know where my grandfather's parents were from before they came to
AL. I heard that they possibly came from GA, but no one ever knew/said
where in GA.
I think my grandfather had some relatives in TX, but again, I don't know
where. I also think my grandmother had relatives in TX. She was a
"Lankford-Lanford-Landford; don't know the correct spelling.
My GGG-grandfathers G-granddaughter, Margaret (Maggie) Drucilla Kirby
married Augustus (Gus) P. Lankford.
So it's possible my grandfather married a distant cousin.
As far as I know these dates are correct, but I don't have any info as to
where they lived other than my grandfather and his parents. I would love to
know where exactly they came from.

I have been trying to make contact with anyone that may have some info on these families. I can carry Joseph Clark down to the present date but before 1830 I have no info. I know he is my line, but not sure about the others. He married Susannah Norwood, not sure where but would think in Lawrence Co, Al but can not find a marriage record. I have a James Clark from AL who later moved to Louisville KY. As a child
his family lived in the northern part of AL close to the TN line. Any chance
this is part of your line?

Hi,
In reference to your inquiry, my great grandfather, Joseph A. Clark married
a Sarah Addington from Tennessee and they had 14 children. Some children
were the result of him remarrying after Sarah died. My grandfather was one
of the 14. They lived in an area called Hazel Green in Madison County which
is in northern AL in the early to mid 1800's.. Before this my ancestors
before him resided in Lancaster, SC. I don't if this helps you but I thought
I'd send the info along. Good luck in your serach.
Lewis Clark, Rothesay, NB, Canada
P.S. - I moved from AZ to Canada in 1980.
