I don't if our Claridge lines are the same but James Claridge who migrated to Texas from Shelby county Illinois had a daughter names Alafair and a son named Daniel. He married a Mary Harris first and apparently she died trying to have a child. He then married Phoebe Devilla Dowdy and they left Illinois in 1849 and arrived in Texas same year. They settled in Limestone county which later was broken up into two counties, Limestone and Freestone. The part of Limestone County where they settled became Freestone County. My public tree is"Jess Anderson".

My name is Jesse J Anderson. James was my GG Grandfather on my grandmother's side. James is buried in Hawassie,Arkansas beside his third wife. I would very much to see lineage back from his birth. You can access much of this info in Jess Anderson public tree.
