George Clare is my ancestor also. I go to him through his son Thomas. I
wish I did know who his parents were and the name of his wife. I've never
seen anything other than tradition that is was Miss Cox. I do know that he
served with George Rogers Clark in the American Revolution, and that he died
in Botetourt Co., Va. All his children moved to Pulaski Co., KY where
Thomas' daughter Maria married William Cox. That is how I got Cox in my
family tree for certain.

Hi...
I am new to this list and thought I'd throw this surname out there!
I have been working on this line for some time - they are my current
challenge. My goal is to make sure I'm looking in the correct County and to
see if anyone recognizes these names.
I have the following:
Michael MCNAMARA b. abt. May, 1844 in Ireland
Parents: John and Mary MAHER (both of Ireland)
Siblings: Unknown
Died: Aug. 26, 1907 - Brooklyn, NY USA - buried in Holy Cross Cemetery,
Brooklyn
Occupation listed on death cert. - Carpenter
Married: Alice LUNDERGIAN/LONDRIGAN
Children: Mary, Thomas, John and Michael - all born in Brooklyn between
1867-1877
I don't know if Michael came over alone or if he had family here already.
Based on years supplied to the Federal Census and other information he would
have been between 13-18 years of age. I also don't know where he entered
the US.
If any of these details sounds familiar or you have suggestions feel free to
contact me.
Thank you for reading this.
