Joab Clardy married into my family. If anyone is interested, I can provide background on his wife, Mary (Polly) Gambrell, or info re their children. Also, did Joab have a sister or a child named Sarah Jane Clardy, born in Anderson County, S.C., November 27, 1844? She, too, married into yet another branch of my family, the Cooper side. I have limited info on her, as she died young, but I would be interested in info re her daughter, Luvinia.

To all the message board users, MERRY CHRISTMAS. May you be blessed this Christmas day as we celebrate the birth of our savior.
It is now Christmas day around the world (actually in a small slice of the Western Pacific it has already come and gone, by the time some of you read this even more will be into the post-Christmas time. All around the world thousands of people are experimenting with their first computer, their first internet access, their first genealogy software, or some combination of the above. They are learning. They will soon discover Rootsweb/Ancestry.com and begin signing up for mailing lists and posting to message boards. Some will make mistakes, get off topic, post to the wrong place, etc. Be kind. Remember before we learned to use the tools we didn't know how either. If they ask silly questions, bear with them, help if you can. If it pertains to board operation, be assured that I will respond to correct or help them. 99% of my responses to this type of situation will be by private email, so you will not see me intervening, but I will be doing so. Be patient, the newbies!
will get up to speed and the internet genealogy community will be all the better for thier contributions. One of them just might know where the crack in your brick wall is to be found.
Happy hunting,
Joe Harrington
