Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
I picked this up off another list and thought it might be helpful to
someone on the CLARDY list.

I am looking for any information on the descendants and parents of John W.B.
Orr. He was known as California John Orr, he went to California to work in the
gold mines, made his fortune(a small one) came back to Anderson, and bought a
farm at Brushey Creek. He was the son of Nancy Clardy and William Orr. Nancy
Clardy was the daughter of Mary "Polly" Clardy (d/o Benjamin Clardy b. ca 1742
and Aggie Booth b.1755) and John Clardy(no info although probably related in
some way). All of the family remained in the Anderson, Occone, Pickens Co.
areas of SC. I would greatly appreciate any help with this line.
Thank you,
Jane Taylor

This might be of interest to some CLARDY researchers who aren't members of
the Laurens County, SC, list. Is this the James Calhoun CLARDY, who married
Sarah HALL and had a son Jesse Ellis CLARDY? The same James Calhoun CLARDY
who was the son of Michael CLARDY and Judith SCARBROUGH? Thanks, Carolyn

I am looking for any information On James Thomas Clardy/ Clarity. Born around
1836 possibly in Cedar Knob, Kentucky. He was married to Betty (Elizabeth?)
Clark, born around 1840, also possibly Cedar Knob, Ky. I believe they moved
to Texas around 1881 along with some other families. I only know of 1
daughter, Julia Tommie Clarity, born Dec. 25, 1866 in Cedar Knob, Ky. Julia
married Hugh Allen Woodruff in 1887, in Bonham, Texas. Julia and Hugh had 9
daughters.
Thank you, Heidi
Joyce: Thanks so much for that information--I was about to add those
children as children of Jesse E. CLARDY! That just goes to show the danger
of assuming things are right on the census.
I'm very interested in knowing the name of the HILL who was Margaret's
first husband. Does anybody have that information? Thanks, Carolyn

Note: S. A. CARTER is next household; he's probably the man by the same
name who witnessed Jesse E. CLARDY's will in 1886, proved in 1887. He is
age 40, GA/VA/GA, with wife and children. The next household is John WYNN,
age 32, FL/NC/GA, with wife Mary, 31, SC/SC/SC. In his 1886/1887 will,
Jesse E. CLARDY names his deceased daughter Mary WYNN and names John WYNN
representative of her heirs to his estate. Also in the household are three
daughters (ages 7, 5, and 7/12ths) and a son (age 3), born in FL, TX, TX,
and TX, respectively. John HART, a boarder, age 19, farmlaborer, GA/GA/GA
is also listed in household.
On p. 9 of this book, Dwelling 61, Family 63, living with Charles and Sally
FOLLIS (she's age 28, SC/SC/SC) and their 2 children, is Stacy CLAIRADY,
age 21, brother-in-law, farmer, FL/SC/SC. The next listing is H. A.
McWHORTER, age 63, SC/Ireland/SC, who is possibly the W. H. McWHORTER who
witnessed Jesse E. CLARDY's will in 1886/1887.

Robert CLARDY, and the remaining one third to be left to the disposal of my
above named wife. Third. It is also my will and desire that should any one,

situated on South Prong Waxahachie Creek, and also my timber purchased of
J. H. MILLER on same Creek shall go with the aforesaid homestead.

testament Jos. TEAFATILLER. In Witness whereof, I, Jesse E. CLARDY, to
this, my last will and testament, have hereunto set my hand and seal, this
